Agent 47 seems more like a bullet sponge in this than he was before. Did they change something?

They (Devs) reduced AI firing rate basically making the combat into a joke. I mean seriously, BEFORE the change I could "kill all" on every map reliably, I can't imagine how easy it is now.

Not quite sure where the "guns in this game are terrible" thing came from. You can easily head-shot people from pretty large distances with silenced pistols.

Highly enjoyable runs overall despite some misinformation here and there.

@chummy8 said:

Once again, their fear of the pistol is severely limiting their choices. It's perfectly fine to take out dudes at a distance further than you can throw. But great runs regardless.

As someone who has played the crap out of the game it is SUPER frustrating to see them badmouth guns when they are easily the most useful tool when being hunted (or even for quick, quiet killing when suppressed.)

I get it, they're using a controller and they might have crappy aim but it's still kinda wonky how so many times it would've went faster if they just shot a dude here and there.

The Hitman stuff (Or any feature here really) is always so bittersweet to me because if they spent like 10 minutes looking into the game mechanics or preparing in general these runs might not take well, over an hour. Still though, it's a lot of fun to watch and moments are made, I just wish they put more effort into it.

@jeff

It would appear as I'm becoming "that" guy in the comments now.

Interestingly enough it was a good way to attack a tank without your own armor or rockets and as it was used more and more they resigned to simply running up to the side of the tank and slapping it on since throwing (obviously) didn't work too well.

You're right about "bomb launcher" though, that's total videogame bullshit.

Egg Drop got nothing on Viet Soup!

@vinny A lot of Vietnamese soup is served with bone right in the soup! I actually went to an authentic Vietnamese restaurant once and it was some of the best soup I've ever had, The bone isn't much of a hassle and it promotes gut health!

Hey don't buy mid grade gas ok?

For people who think a clutch is in the engine, just buy whatever the owners manual for your car says. Higher octane just reduces knock and if your car isn't designed for it, it does nothing.

Uhm, can you elaborate? I have a ten year old Sebring, the little beast only has 70k on it but if I give it trash it shows it's sass. Mid-grade is a fair trade for a smooth sail without fail.

AFAIK it was common knowledge that higher grade fuel helps old engines last longer and a lot of people who do cars for a living reccomend running mid/high tanks once in awhile if you run cheap to "clean out the pipes", despite vehicle age.

This stuff makes me worried for the next Battlefield game. Hopefully EA learns from this.

Have you not played the last two?

i was just here for Single Player then stops it 18m

well that's it for the QL for me

Yeah this was actually really disappointing. Everyone knows you play as a bad guy then go "good", it's freaking Disney. They've had no issues issuing spoiler warnings in the past and continuing content but this time it's so important @vinny has to basically force Dan to skip it and quit the entire thing? They've shown spoilers for STORY games (shorter and longer than this campaign), this campaign is (barely)5 hours long and is fluff.

@vinny@danryckert@alex, PLEASE for the sake of good content try to have an idea of what you plan to do in a QL before starting it, getting halfway in and saying "Nah nevermind lets look at multiplayer!" right as cutscenes start to end is really, really frustrating to watch.

(I understand I can watch this mission play out on a million different sites but I come to GiantBomb for a reason...)

On a less contentious note, it's not surprising to see that EA DICE still has no idea how Pandemic was able to capture the hearts and minds of people with its amazing Battlefront games that are now over a decade old and still superior (or maybe they DO and just dont care). Don't like the fighting map on this world? Just freaking DESTROY the entire planet as the Empire. Want to take a TIE Fighter, drive it into a Rebel battleship, get out and destroy the ship from the inside out? Want to add lots of bots to make it actually seem like a massive Star Wars battle? Go for it. For @vinny's request to man turrets in the ship? Simply go back in time 12 years man, it's there. Now, it's 2017, you cant do either of those things but...We got cards!

They did the exact same thing with the NFS franchise, downgrade, throw in loot cards and call it a day. For awhile I was rooting for EA when the hate was strong but now they are the corporate videogame equivalent of The Empire.

In a year of good videogames this simply demonstrates EA's inability to grow and develop, it shows that they have no idea how to give consumers what they want and also succeed financially.

I'd be way more into this game if you played as a gender neutral character who could occupy ANY role.

Most disguises that females have usually have male counterparts to them.

Nevermind gender neutral, a crossdressing bald man, however, would be fucking AMAZING.

@merxworx01: Pardon my European willingness to depend on the state and lack of masculinity, but WHY and HOW would a sane person be needing a silencer on a SHOTGUN because they use it regularly??

I mean i know and understand that it happens in the USA , but can come up with no sane (to me) explanation.

Also once again hitman is great, i will buy this GOTY upgrade version and cant wait for the Brad/Dan video's.
As I explained, it's great for hunting bird and small game. It also increases accuracy and reduces recoil for higher caliber weapons. Once again, if you're hunting or just shooting paper aside from all the above benefits it stops you from being a nuisance and stops my dog from running away from my house everytime someone within a mile shoots a gun! (and then finally there's the cool factor which cant be ignored, especially for people with custom builds) Basically, if you live in the country and regularly shoot pests or targets people will still hate you, especially if you use a shotgun which is ideal for pests. A suppressor helps keep the peace.

@merxworx01 said:

@7x_: Also its supposedly better for your eardrums. Regularly use of un-silenced firearm damages your hearing.
It's actually dramatically better for your ears. They had an audio guy on Mythbusters check decibels on suppressed and unsuppressed pistols indoors and he found suppressed to be well within safe hearing levels. A lot of cops would have better hearing if suppressors were standard. Who knows about shotguns though.

Kinda lame if you own the full experience you have to buy this mission.

It's four new campaign missions, new escalations missions, new costumes, new weapons. The developers need money to continue existing

based on random choice or personal whim, rather than any reason or system.

I assume you were being partially sarcastic but if I see a red exclamation mark on something it means danger, something i've learned from videogames and real life. This is a game about systems and you call it arbitrary? Being found out by certain employees makes sense, people who have been at a position for any decent amount of time will know you aren't legit, this is where a lot of the misunderstanding comes from. The game isn't perfect but when their aren't mechanics glitches (most of the time their aren't) anything can be explained by an ingame system that seems to be generally understood. I understand you guys received lots of flak for not paying attention to the systems and learning them (tutorial levels were good for that) but personally I enjoy watching you guys goof, it's funny. Please don't take it too seriously and start calling a good game arbitrary!

As for the reasoning/practicality it makes lots of sense if you're hunting, lots of hunters use shotguns and in states where suppressors aren't illegal it will mean less spooking of game and less of a disturbance in general. The tactical role is obvious--if you're in some kind of special ops or dare I say a Hitman, the noise would be less likely to leave a building, at least it would sound less suspicious if it did and you aren't going to find a better type of firearm for building clearing than a shotgun, especially if its not a very open building.

I think you pinned down what has always escaped me with why this franchise seems to be going nowhere: They don't build off previous games at all. It's like the freaking Sonic franchise! Just look at the lootbox-bandwagoning replacing actual progression. "Let's try this! Maybe they'll like this!" NFS (as I remember it) seems like one of the simplest games to make design-wise: just make the driving fun.

I don't even think NFSU2 or Hot pursuit were amazing technically/controls-wise but they were fun. It seems like any driving game of late is trying to be super realistic instead of trying to be fun first (mainly just the last 7 years of NFS games). We have established series that maintain hyper realistic handling, I just want to be able to abuse a specific car and setup to drift the entire map.

NFSU2 was one of the first racing games to have the record videos on YouTube and they have millions of views. Forza games have tons of silly videos because people like playing the game and seeing funny/cool stuff. I wonder if the playtesters were like "Yeah the game works it is technically competent but it isnt fu-" "THANKS THATS ALL WE NEEDED YOULL GET YOUR CHECK IN THE MAIL"
