Man, this was really amazing. Although I still have a lot of unanswered questions! And maybe some of those questions can't be answered or will be months or a years down the road. I'm really interested in finding out how much of the game we have discovered, is this it? It probably is close to everything, but it's hard to say.
I did appreciate that Brad asked about the flower next to the reflective board. It seems like Blow designed things like that to simply add some mystique and character to the world. There's another little vignette that has been nagging at me ever since I found it. Once you complete the pink tree area you're allowed into a little courtyard. There are clues in there that hint at some sort of human tampering with the environment, and very vivid art of hearts and trees. There's a cut up apple with a knife and a little card next to it with a symbol on it like you see in the credits tower. Just gotta find the right perspective I suppose.
Also, very interesting to hear about the audio logs, I've heard a couple but the one Brad played definitely felt like it was almost re-contextualizing a lot of things in the game. Maybe Austin will be able to shed some more light on it if he ever is able to work on his piece.
All in all this was a fantastic video. Really the perfect way to continue the conversation after a couple weeks of letting it sit.
As someone who is also a lapsed Dynasty Warriors fan who really loved Dynasty Warriors 4 and 5 which came out literally over decade ago, I really appreciate Austin's genuine presentation of this game and expressing something other than callous disdain for another Dynasty Warriors style game from Tecmo Koei.
I'm not interested in playing this, but I am truly interested in seeing what they do with the next Dynasty Warriors game that comes out based on there being a lot of game design improvements over the last few games that company has released recently.
