Additionally- my name here (KarthasMI) is because I made an account under Karthas and totally screwed it up somehow when I was first trying to set up my Premium subscription. So, I stole the MI suffix from a friend who used (inMI) to differentiate his rather generic username.

@yummylee: Dammit, thanks- no idea how I didn't notice that, I think I just saw Hardline and glazed over.

While I think there's room for Solo Quick Look content (hell, 1/2 of Youtube feels like "Solo Quick Look" content these days), I much prefer when there is more than one person and there's some interaction between the folks in the video. If I really wanted that Solo content I'd head to Youtube where it's available in spades. It's like going to a seafood restaurant and ordering a burger- sure, the burger will probably taste fine and will satisfy your burger craving, but why not go to a place that specializes in burgers?

That's not to denigrate the work Patrick does of course, it's great in it's own right and for the features where it works, it works. And if a game would be covered no other way, go ahead and Solo it. But I come to the GB Krab Shack for some nice crab legs.

Then again, I'm just a guy who likes strained analogies, so I might not be the one to listen to for programming advice/commentary.

Given the glut of October releases, I think I'm actually more relieved than anything. What do you think? Harbinger of ill tidings, a couple weeks of extra polish, or just putting some space between them and the other games launching in that window?

@splodge: He was tweeting earlier about his flight being delayed multiple times, I wonder if the intention was to wait for him to actually record it on a Tuesday so he could give us all the hot TI4 insider news that's too hot for print.

Mutant Mudds I had no intention or inclination to like as the whole "Masochistic Platformer" trend of late (1001 Spikes, Super Meat Boy, They Bleed Pixels, etc) just hold no appeal for me, but it felt like a Fisher Price "My First Difficult Platformer" and that stuck with me for some reason. Being on the Vita, it was fun to pick up anytime I had a few spare minutes and crank out a level or two, to the point where I just went and 100%'d the thing.

Not Doug so much, but I sure shot a heck of those flying Skank things.

This year I think I've done more damage to my backlog than any other year in recent history. What's helped me so far is doggedly sticking to one game no matter what. In the past (and even now) when I'm playing a game I'd think "Well, I could be playing this other game that looked neat, remember all those screenshots and that Quick Look..." and my attention would flit around like an ADD-riddled toddler on a 5-juice-box sugar high. Forcing myself to stick with one game to completion has helped with my "stickyness" for lack of a better term I can think of.

Also, quitting WoW helped quite a bit. Though I do have that Wildstar box sitting over there begging me to resubscribe... I think I need a Sponsor.

@vessel28: Damn, I forgot all about that one too. Swamp took so damned long I figured that had to be the end of the game, but then it just keeps going. (re)Add that to my list.

For the longest time, Final Fantasy XIII was my roadblock- I'd fire it up, play 30 minutes of it, get nowhere, and throw something else in. Earlier this year though I finally forced myself to finish it, so I have that done at least. Contemplating getting the Platinum to just really "stick it" to the game and finish it once and for all, but I couldn't do it... so I still will have that hanging over me.

Going way back in time, The 7th Saga is probably my longest running "failed to complete", with Jade Empire coming in second place.
