List items

  • Gold

    + Beautifully tragic

+ Variety in storytelling methods is admirable, and they work

    + Perfect length

+ Lighthearted in the face of such grimness

  • Gold

+Absolutely superb, well told and complete story

+Aloy is a top tier video game protagonist; very likable, really well written, and perfectly performed.

    +Gameplay

    +Hard to put down

    +Beautiful music

+99 percent of the voice acting is well done

+Side missions are interesting and doing them has its rewards.

-Climbing is very annoying, it's often very hard to tell where to jump to next.

  • Gold

+ Perhaps the best interpretation of these heroes in any medium that's not comic books.

+ The Netherrealm structure still works great.

    + Graphics are gorgeous

    + Top tier facial animation

+ Loot boxes and customization are great additions and a reason to stick with the game. Feels very rewarding.

+ Netherrealm continues to make these games accessible to anyone. If you suck at fighting games, you can pick this up and enjoy the story no problem. If you're a pro fighting games, it's as in depth a fighting game as you can get. Great for everyone.

+ Multiverse keeps single player fresh.

    - Heavy on micro transactions.

  • Gold

    +Wonderfully unique

+Some strong Life is Strange vibes

    +Game has style

    +Layered characters

    +Great dialogue and story

    +Funny

+I could relate to moments in this game very deeply. It was actually surreal at times.

-A little bit longer than it needed to be

    - Dream sequences are out of place and annoying.

  • Silver

    + Stunning visuals

+ Handles it's delicate subject matter with respect

    + Emotional story

    + Fun and challenging combat

+ Great performances, Senua is outstanding

    + Boss battles

+ Unnerving atmosphere, topped off with the chilling voices in Senua's head makes for an unsettling experience.

    - Symbol puzzles are not much fun, I couldn't wait to hurry up and find them so I can go back to the parts I enjoy

    - Dying in combat sometimes feels cheap.

  • Silver

+ More of Uncharted at it's best

    + Open environments

+ Naughty Dog level dialogue, story, and graphics

    + Perfect length

+ Grand set pieces that you've come to expect

    - Besides the open areas, it does little to advance what an Uncharted game is.

  • Silver

+ Brought Crash Bandicoot back to life.

+ Surreal seeing the Crash games look this good.

    + Crash's animations

+ Treated with respect, maintains what made Crash such a beloved game.

+ Improved save system makes a play-through far less frustrating.

    + Game plays really well.

    - The racing levels are awful to control.

  • Silver

+ Pro or newcomer to golf games, gives you a great experience

    + Friendly atmosphere

    + Surprisingly deep customization options

+ Playing golf is easily accessible and challenging.

    - Micro transactions are super prominent

  • Bronze

+A well designed combat system that is very accessible.

+A solid story mode that properly introduces you to all the classes you will go on to use in multiplayer.

    +Fun Multiplayer matches

+Very rewarding to those who delve deep into the combat, yet not unfair to those who do not.

-Multiplayer matches drop fairly often. I Wasn't able to finish one Dominion match in my time with it.

-Graphics don't look very good for this console generation.

  • Silver

+Great preview of what to expect from Kingdom Hearts 3

+Good way to appease waiting fans

    +Combat is improved

    +Looks fantastic

    +Great package deal

+All the Kingdom Hearts traits you love, including the Simple and Clean song and the iconic noises.

  • Wood

+ Interesting premise, which adds good reasoning as to why the Normandy crew is not around.

+ Character mobility is vastly improved from the previous Mass Effect games, which felt like you were in a straitjacket.

+/- The crew members are very hit or miss. PeeBee and Jaal are cool, but the others are either okay at best or just plain boring.

    - Exploration is dull and painstakingly slow.

    - Animations are so bad at times, you wonder how EA and Bioware thought this was acceptable.

    - Very dry voice acting.

    - The game is filled with mechanics that go almost unexplained.

    - Confusing menus

    - Only 2 new races. In a game set in a whole new galaxy, they could only come up with 2 new species.

    - Annoying puzzles. Not clever in anyway, the type of puzzle that feels like it's in the way of progressing.

    - A really boring game top to bottom.

  • Wood

+ Sniping and sniper vision are satisfying.

    + Very intricate sniping options.

    + Good podcast/music game

    - Not much to it

    - Looks like a ps3 game

    - Boring story and lame protagonist

    - Boring after a few hours. No incentive to progress, same mission over and over with few added mechanics throughout.

  • Wood

    + Looks pretty good.

+ Creation suite is once again ridiculous, but the good kind of ridiculous.

    + Roster

    + Fun with friends

    - Worst Career mode in a long time, which is saying something because the previous few years career modes are nothing to ride home about.

    - Runs like crap. I can not fathom how somebody could play an 8 man match and enjoy it. It runs in slow motion.

    - Gameplay is janky.

  • Bronze

    + Scene direction is outstanding

    + Entertaining and enthralling narrative.

+ Some memorable and ballsy moments.

    + Performances are very good.

+ Heroes you can root for and villains you absolutely can not stand.

+ The world of Wolfenstein 2 is dreadful yet full of hope.

    - Gameplay is just kind of there

    - Annoying difficult spikes, even on the easier difficulties.

    - Lazy level design

  • Gold

    + Addicting, amazing collectathon.

+ Every part of this game is charming.

    + Evil wedding theme

+ The variety of the kingdoms is spectacular and they are very well designed. No wasted space.

+ Gameplay feels good; and the simple control scheme is deeper than it seems. It's almost a facade, if you experiment with the controls you come to realize that combining certain jumps and attacks result in advanced mobility for Mario.

+ You get a lot of game for the price of admission.

+ Cappy mechanic; every animal or object you become has it's own controls and they for the most part feel tight.

    + The music is superb

+ The 2d sections of the game are a nice interlude from the 3d gameplay and is never overused.

    - Motion controls. They aren't mandatory but they really want you to use them and they are just no good. There is also one spinning cap move that is very helpful in certain areas, but can only be done with motion control, which is annoying.

    + Beautiful Music

    + Combat

    + Story/Themes

+ The game's universe is very cool

    + Difficult but fair

+ Unique ways it incorporates the essentials of video games into the actual world. Example, being able to sell all of your huds.

+ Some funny writing trickled in

    - A little too much upskirt action.

+Trico. His animations, his sound effects, your relationship with him and how it evolves; it is an extraordinary feat.

+Emotional strings are pulled tightly in this game. I cared about the well being of these characters.

-Camera is straight out of the ps2

-Trico's ai is very annoying at times. He'll just do whatever the hell he wants at times, and i doubt it was intentional.

-Combat is more of a chore than it is enjoyable

    Final Word:

Trico is a remarkable accomplishment in gaming. Your journey with him is a beautiful experience that I cant equate to anything else in gaming. But even with that, the actual game part of The Last Guardian is lackluster to just straight up bad.

  • Bronze

    +Another good TellTale adventure game.

+Takes a few risks with the Batman lore and makes it it's own.

    -Runs terribly
