Damn it, just as I was getting ready to kick the habit, they make it sound interesting again. Nothing groundbreaking but for a CoD game this is practically a revolution.

@EuanDewar: Haha, that was an awkward interview. Never heard of Marcus' Corner before. Really funny video's!

He had a tough job. I can see how he could get demotivated by higher-ups insisting on keeping stuff in the game that he knew the fans wouldn't like and the subsequent hate directed at him personally. The CoD community isn't the most considerate and it's quite a feat to keep your sanity for 6 years being the face of a game that so many people love to hate. Maybe he's smart to leave now before the annual milking really starts to ruin the CoD franchise.

The best way for a corporation to make money is to let their businesses do what they do best. If the GB guys are convinced that this is the case wih CBS I can only wish them the best of luck and hope this move makes GiantBomb even better.

It's really common practice to put obviously ridiculous things (like the DNS redirect stuff) into proposals so the people offering them can be made to look better when they take them out. While, at the same time, the actual legislation that comes from it will be just as bad.

@Catarrhal said:

"'We want to thank everyone reading this for playing our game and supporting all it tries to do,' said the company."

The key word here is "tries."

Noticed that too. The honesty is refreshing.

Great article! This added layer of morality and consequence is exactly what shooters need.

Don't you just love all these corporate weasel words in Ubisoft's statements? "Confusion" isn't the same as being angry about being lied to and "misunderstanding" isn't the same as giving contradictory information. "Not [being] clear" is a little closer to reality but still feels like some of the blame is on the customer. None of it comes close to being the apology which they ought to give.

Maybe they could revamp the actual store first. XBLMP may be filled with ads but it's so much more inviting. PSN Store feels like a rather poorly designed website from the nineties.  Fanboy disclaimer: Can't wait for Journey on PSN!

Is Howard Stringer sucking up to- or actually blaming Congress? Either way, it's bullshit. Countless other companies manage their security just fine without the government intervening. At least he got to sneak in the word terrorist. That always hits the spot with American politicians...
