@philscorpio: I'm literally the press, dude. Did I hide it from myself.

@philscorpio: This is a really weird way to frame an issue that I hadn't even heard about prior to this. Especially since the press was on top of the Left JoyCon issues that cropped up after the consoles started getting out there. Why would you think they'd avoid talking about this?

@gregalor: The only notes I had were weapon priority. As much as I want to discover these games, long stretches where I'm experimenting with weapons aren't necessarily fun to watch, especially when I'm still learning the patterns on the fly.

@sweetz: I don't believe I have, in recent memory, made any jokes that would imply the idea of being gay is somehow hilarious. If I make a joke with sexual innuendo in it, that is not in and of itself an attempt at making mockery of sex or someone's sexuality. That said, if a joke I made came across the way you're describing, I'd absolutely want you to say something to me. I'd want to hear how you felt about it and I'd appreciate the feedback. I'd rather have a conversation about it than go on doing it, ignorant of how I was making people feel.

That wasn't always true. I've definitely been in positions before where I got defensive about someone calling me out over some crack I made. The thing I learned was that, even if I don't necessarily agree with the criticism, I don't get to dictate how something I say makes someone else feel. I can choose to accept how what I said made someone feel, or reject it, but that choice ultimately boils down to whether I think what I said was defensible or not. In some cases, I think it has been. Others, most definitely not. It's a value judgment that you ultimately have to make. In most cases, I'd more likely say "OK, if what I said made someone feel hurt or humiliated, this is probably not worth defending." There is such a thing as oversensitivity, but I think a lot of people's definitions of that have been weirdly twisted into this notion that any offended reaction to something that's supposed to be a "joke" is inherently oversensitive. It's not. It's possible to cross a line with something you don't intend to be serious. What that line is from person to person differs, and you won't always agree with where someone's line is drawn. That's OK. The important thing is just to be considerate, to hear people out, and, if you feel like you really fucked up, be apologetic, and take the criticism to heart. Just try to be better.

@adac01: I mentioned this on twitter to someone. Basically, if we find ourselves feeling like we're not making enough progress for our (and everyone else's) tastes, and it really feels like we're dragging on, adding a second episode each week isn't out of the realm of possibility. For the time being, we're gonna stick with one a week and see how we feel after the first grip of episodes.

FWIW, returning this week, we all still remembered pretty much everything that had gone on in the previous episode, and spent a bit of time at the top discussing it as a refresher.

@peffy: Here's a question I'd pose to you and anyone else who is concerned about how long this series might go. Is it such a bad thing if it takes us a long time to finish this? I realize the Way of Things nowadays is to release in batches, or at least on a very frequent basis. Personally, I think there's merit to sticking with a series over the long haul. I don't mind the idea of us playing through Yakuza 0 over the next few months, if not longer. I like the idea of having a regular game we go back to every week. I think it makes the journey a little more satisfying to allow some space between episodes. Even just leading up to recording our second episode this week, I found myself pretty giddy at the thought of jumping in for our next bit. Anticipation tends to breed enthusiasm, at least in my experience.

You're right that this may go on for a very long time. Our next episode, for instance, involves a lot of exploring and messing around with the different shops and activities around the city. We probably won't have too many episodes like that, but we're allowing ourselves the time to absorb the world and see what's on offer. If that means we're still working our way through Tokyo's underworld by the time the summer rolls around, so be it.

@sankis: Don't worry. The plan is to explore as much as possible and see as much side content as we can. We're not gonna use a guide or anything, but we'll try to be thorough.
