Alex repeatedly pointing out how bad this game is, is the only thing that kept me watching this horribly controlling game. I never played this, but after this video I know completely agree with Jeff on this.
How can you say that the game is horribly controlling if you have never played it before? The controls are almost exactly like any other Mario game. They take time to adjust to. They call the movement floaty, but he has the same start and stop times as in 64. The problem isn't that they were voicing their opinion about hating the game, it's that they never gave it a chance. Saying that a game is terrible 30 minutes in because you are still learning the controls isn't even close to fair. They were struggling to learn basic movement like jumping on platforms and calling the game shit because of it. I get that they want to keep the stream going, but don't burn the game alive because you made a mistake. If they had done the same thing in Mario 64 everyone would be outraged, but because everyone has a preconceived notion that this game is horrible they will nitpick it to death because the game gives you challenges while you are still learning rather than modern games that spend 10 hours tutorializing you before finally throwing something remotely challenging at you.
If Alex hates this game then he is going to absolutely despise 5. You just can't run at bosses with their weakness without knowing their attack patters after 3. This might be a good time to drop this series, and pick up something new.
I was so happy when Dan was leaving the SF office because I wouldnt have to be so annoyed watching the videos anymore.... When I saw this I realised he would be showing up in the east-playthrough videos and stenching up the place with his putried persona (that does a bad job of masking his intellect).
If you want to accuse someone of having a putrid persona and a lacking intellect look no further than yourself, my dude.
I'm surprised Will was apprehensive about using a controller to move around in Resident Evil VR. I have played a lot of VR demos/games, and by far the best ones are ones that allow you to move around with a controller, to the point that I'm disappointing when a game compromises and uses the generic teleportation method. It just feels so unnatural. I'm not sure if some people have adverse reactions to that control scheme or if devs just assume that it wont work and don't actually try it, but I really hope that more games start using it.
