@aniki21: I could have sworn I heard that in MP, the thugs are played in FPS, while batman and robin are played in the traditional 3rd person. Was that the case for the beta you played?

The thugs were played in third-person, same as Batman.

The creation of a Steam Machine that has the power and cost of a regular gaming rig just doesn't have a feasible market to sell to.

I'm curious why you think that. It's basically just going to be a high-end PC that ships with SteamOS (and no monitor); what's the difference between that and any other high-end PC that will cause the market to lose interest?

I'm not sure if it's because I marathoned the first 11 episodes over two evenings and then had to wait a week for the finale, but I was quite disappointed by the Gatchaman Crowds ending.

I'd have liked to see anybody react to OD's death (I'm assuming he died; badly wounded at least, but they didn't show for definite either way), rather than everybody just getting on with their lives. There didn't seem to be a clear explanation of how Berg-Katze ended up trapped in the NOTE. And it definitely needed a lot more Utsutsu.

It felt a little like they'd crammed two episodes' worth of stuff into 22 minutes and although I really liked the show overall - especially the whole "what is a hero" puzzle - I think the finale didn't do the characters justice. Just me?

The multiplayer beta was a lot of fun, but fairly laggy (I'm sure they'll have better netcode by launch, though). I expected it to devolve into a rush for Batman privileges, but I actually had a lot more fun playing as the henchmen - I think I lacked the strategic ability to Batman properly. The balance was very even, too - while the first night I played didn't result in any Batman wins, it evened out over the course of the beta.

No idea what the campaign's going to be like, but I expect it to be basically more of the same. Hopefully they've not changed the melee combat much; it's about the best hand-to-hand action I've ever played.

Flipboard is a must.

Space Team is one of the most chaotic, hilarious multiplayer games out there, and has cross-platform play with Android and iOS devices.

I've been using the Chrome Beta browser for most of my browsing recently, having gotten more used to its gestures (can't wait for them to make it into the stock browser).

I don't know if I'll get one as a primary gaming rig - price is going to be a major factor on that front; I can't really afford a new machine but take out the Windows licensing cost and give me a decent, quiet form factor and I could be convinced - but I'm very interested in the streaming capabilities of the lower-end devices, and the controller. I might look into dual-booting our (ageing) PC to SteamOS at some point, but I can't see myself using it as the primary operating system on our box.

1. You do it the same as you do now on Steam. Alternatively, because it is Linux, you can install Skype (I think there is a Linux version) and do that.

I wouldn't expect SteamOS to be able to just run any old Linux software off the bat.

I don't think you want the Linux version of Skype anyway; it's pretty unstable, in my experience.
