On this night, I will be channeling the ancient spirits of pro YouTubers and stream some spoooky games... (one week too late for Halloween ?)
I have some of the classics lined up: Amnesia: The Dark Descent and F.E.A.R. 2! One is much less dude-shooty than the others, but I think they're both about spooky scary ghosts,
There is also going to be more unconventional horror happening in CAPSULE, a survival game that is entirely played though a radar interface, set in an unknown hostile environment.
The other game, which I'm very much looking forward to, is Nancy Drew: Curse of Blackmoor Manor! I'm not quite sure how spooky this one will be, but there will at least be some creepy-looking early 2000's 3D character models!
I have a few PC role-playing games already lined up for the stream:
The first one is Jade Empire, which is a game set in a world inspired by the Chinese Wuxia genre of fiction. It's even got its own constructed East-Asian-like language!
The others are some of the genre-defining games of the post-apocalyptic genre: Wasteland and Fallout. I'm going to be playing the first games in both series, which originally date back to 1988 and 1997, respectively. I will also check out the newest in the Fallout series, Fallout 4, which came out last year. It will be interesting to see them all, back to back!
Announcing the first 4 games for my Extra Life charity stream on 5 Nov...!
The Book of Unwritten Tales: The Critter Chronicles: This is a side story in one of my most favourite adventure game series, and the only one in the series that I haven't played. It is a parody of the fantasy genre that is generally slapstick and referential. Funny stuff!
Botanicula: This one's made by a studio known for making very beautiful adventure games. Features cute little tree creatures!
MASSIVE CHALICE: A strategy game that is equally about fighting monsters as it is about marrying people off and raising their children.
That refund process sounds rough! I feel like it shouldn't be too difficult for a web developer to put in a one-click solution for refunds in the CMS, but I don't know anything about what the stack looks like. Anyway, loving this Androidâ„¢ #ad #content!
I can somewhat relate to your Nonna. I played a lot of English games in my childhood without understanding the language. Metal Gear Solid was extremely surreal to experience, to say the least, and I must have picked up a few words from watching my sister play Final Fantasy VIII. I loved Chocobo Racing though!
@mechanized: they've mentioned many times before that text reviews still has value for the writers to gather and re-evaluate their thoughts on a game, and for bringing in new readers (though it is starting to diminish).
