A Way Out and the new NFS look pretty promising. Other than that, in my opinion, this was the worst E3 Press Conference I've seen since the worst of the Konami ones. Poor pacing, poor presentation, and few games worth caring about. That last section in particular was excruciating... I thought Janina Gavankar actually did quite well, and would like to see her back in an Aisha Tyler-like role; but yeah... Really poor conference.
Thank you, GB duders for talking over it though! Made it 5x more interesting than the naked stream I watched.
The actual act of crashing looks good - like there is significant impact, and the way the AI cars veer off and crash into each other is quite satisfying; but... Boy, this seems bad. The sterile environment, the pits you can fall into, lack of shadows, absence of music, and general 'slowness' of everything seems... Bad. This studio has yet to release anything good, sadly =( It's too bad, I had really high hopes
@curufinwe: 5 seconds is a lot in a game like this. Think about a game like Trials or Super Meat Boy where you are restarting dozens of times. Those are instant. Now, for the sake of argument, you want to restart a run here 10 times. That's an extra 50 seconds, which is kind of a long time of doing nothing when it could/should be instantaneous.
I would tend to agree with all that you mentioned, especially the last bit. Persona 5 isn't without its faults; but, at some point, talking about and criticizing these faults feels more like nit-picking than holding anything against the developers. The discussions brought forth end up being constructive, and finding what we like - even if there are caveats!
I'm not really sure what the name of this game is supposed to imply, because apparently "tölva" is just the Icelandic word for "computer"?
Fun fact, Icelandic language does not add words from its original dialect - even with advents of modern technology. "Tölva" actually directly translates to "Number Witch."
