Really liking this game on PC so far. Had some problems with Fullscreen 1920x1080, so went with Borderless Window which is working fine. A little disappointed that stealth tactics are downplayed relative to New Order and Old Blood--the pistol no longer has pinpoint accuracy, and neutralizing the commanders before they alert and bring in reinforcements seems more difficult to me. But since the gun gameplay is so fun, it's not too big a deal.
Just played through CoD 1 and 2 this past weekend, and they're really great games. Did prefer the regenerating health system of 2 but that's a modern convenience I suppose. It's always a good time gunning down some Nazis.
Looks like a solid game, but to me the biggest hurdle is the knowledge that in a year's time, I'll have to do the whole rigmarole over again. I really think the series needs to switch to a generalized Call of Duty model that allows me to have a single, universal character.
Just came to this after reading the most recent guest column, not having known that this was a definite program, and I have to say, go Giantbomb! I've missed the sort of intellectual meanderings that Patrick used to post, from his excellent Spelunky write-ups to pieces on online harassment and the like. That's not to say that there wasn't anything to fill that void--there certainly was--but there was something unique about Patrick's willingness to dive into subjects and come out with a sharply analytical piece. I look forward to guest contributors contributing to a diversity of topics, some of which I know will be familiar and easily digestible, and others that I know will be a little harder to swallow (e.g. the Guilty Pleasures piece). I'm very much looking forward to this!
