Now that the game is out for all to see and experience I don't understand why they were so cagey and mysterious throughout development. They tried to foster a Souls' level of intrigue by being so vague and implicating all this hidden great meaning to things you would find in the game and what you would be able to do and now it's biting them in the ass.

They would've been much better served getting out in front of this long ago and not letting people build up wild expectations because they wouldn't elaborate on basic mechanics of how their game worked. It may have served them well in the short term sales wise but I imagine they've burned a lot of good will with their fans. I'll be interested to see if they can earn their trust back going forward.

If they added a third person camera even a rough one Elder Scrolls style I'd give it a shot. I just have no interest in a fps moba and what's the point of buying things like skins when I can't even see my character?

@rebel_scum: I fail to see your point as the similarities go beyond just having the character on the cover. The covers are both monotone with white on the characters to accent features, they have textured backgrounds, the title placement is identical, the pose is even quite similar. I'm not throwing shade I just thought it was funny how similar they appear especially with Naughty Dog being on the other side of it a few months ago with the art they lifted from Assassin's Creed.

For anyone that's been playing this over the years on PC, did they ever fix PvE after everything got broken with Module 6? I remember they raised the level cap while simultaneously nerfing many of the classes making soloing incredibly difficult if you weren't geared to the teeth already. I immediately bounced off after that mess since the devs seemed like they didn't really care if they pushed away solo and casual players but I'd be interested in jumping back in if that's since been sorted out.

Also did they ever re-work any of the boss fights for dungeons or are they mostly still just a ton of AoE spam with constant waves of add spawns?

None of the above, I just ignore it because the game itself doesn't seem that interesting. I'd rather play through Pokemon Red again then wander around aimlessly collecting Pokemon for collection sake.

The majority of people I see out playing are kids and 20 somethings, so I could see a very steep drop off come September when folks don't have unlimited free time during the day and schools will crack down hard on this which will further limit some folks potential playing time.

@jesushammer: I mean yeah it is extra leg work but if you really want the collectors items it's an option for you. I'm not sure where you're located but most places you pre-order don't charge you until it ships so you could lock in now and just put a few bucks away every month so it isn't one big hit. If you happen to have Amazon Prime you get 20% off pre-orders which helps and I believe Best Buy has a similar program.

I know dual-language options are really important to some folks but I'm guessing the extra time/money needed to make it happen just isn't worth it to a smaller company like Atlus.

@jesushammer: If you want the collectors edition goodies why not just buy it and then sell the PS4 copy it comes with and use that money for the PS3 version? As for dual audio neither P3 or P4 had that as I recall so I'm not sure why you would expect that to change.

Bummed it won't make it out for Christmas but the premium edition goodies soothe the wound a bit. Giving it time to breathe from FFXV and the holiday blockbusters is probably a good idea as well.
