@lonelyspacepanda: My plasma is a 2012 Panasonic, and the Destiny UI and a cable news channel bug are permanently visible in the lower left and right corners respectively. Maybe it varies between models but it's definitely an issue for me.

I'm still hanging onto this TV for dear life though because not only does the image quality still look fantastic, but plasma is also the only low persistence panel type available right now afaik -- it's super clear and sharp during fast motion (because it refreshes the image at 600Hz) which is obviously extremely good for games. LCD and even OLED don't come close in that dept. and it's gonna be really hard to give up that kind of clarity if I move to a 4k set.

Brad, please blow your nose instead of persistently sniffling.

It is probably a pet peeve, but it's irritating as something that can be handled with minimal effort.

There's nothing to blow, it's inflammation from allergies. I appreciate you giving me advice on my own health though.

@11111110: I was being sarcastic about exactly that!

@400lb_gorilla: Kinda not, though...

No character customisation, no stamina bar, only one type of attack, no roll, no stats to upgrade, you can freaking jump and grapple?! Aside from the trademark font in the menu design, I could quite easily believe this was made by an entirely different developer.

I think that's what makes this game so exciting to me. The level grinding and defensive gameplay in previous FromSoftware games requires far more patience than I am capable of. This game seems to favour aggression and high risk scenarios without relying on your character level to balance the odds of success.

There's only the one sword attack button, but I went home and played more after the QL and immediately got a random loading screen tip that holding the button does a thrust, which has been INCREDIBLY USEFUL. Went through that flashback sequence again and got up to the boss door almost without taking a hit after that.

Seems like there's more technique hiding in there than it looks like at first, especially as you start unlocking new attacks from the skill tree (and now I'm finding special books that give you even more unique attack moves that aren't on the tree). Almost feels like it has an element of like, Ninja Gaiden on the OG Xbox with all the different special moves and unique counters and so forth. Makes me not mind the lack of equippable weapons and class builds and other explicit RPG stuff so much.

My toughest decision is should I buy this for PS4 where I can play with some friends, or buy it on PC where it will look way better. I'm struggling

I'd 100% recommend going where your friends are, the game gets kinda dull playing by yourself.

@leraa: I'm almost definitely going to buy one of those at some point, gonna wait a bit and see what happens with the hardware though since there are different versions of the board coming to market and the core development scene still has a ways to go.

A lot of people here apparently unfamiliar with the concept of Breaking Brad, which to be fair has only been a thing on Giant Bomb for the last *squints* eight years.

I think the main beef is that the naming for recent BB episodes have been too cute for their own good. Can you tell what "Alexander and Friends" is just by name?

I've always tried to name the video after the achievement/challenge I'm chasing and not just the name of the game (except in the couple of cases where finishing a hard game was the challenge) because I don't want to give the impression it's just a series of full-game playthroughs.

The line breaking from you IS itself the indicator. So, you can run in one direction, using the line break as the indicator for when you should put another tether down.

That's just good game design. Genius. It teaches you, in a natural, unobtrusive way. Unless you professionally do videos on the Internet, I guess.

When you're running at full speed, it's way too easy to blow past the maximum length and drop a tether when it's a hair too far away to connect to the previous one, forcing you to stop, turn around, and reposition it. Don't let that stop you from being condescending on the Internet though.

If anybody knows what's up with the red power cables near the beginning, let me know. I thought the research chamber and battery charge at the same time were drawing more power than the base could output, but apparently it was something else?
