I guess playing War of the Lions on the Vita is not an option. Played it there and it seems fine. I don't recall any slow downs.

I was going to say the same thing. I played it on the Vita a few years ago and don't remember any bad slowdown. Though, it's also a 20 year old turn based strategy game, so maybe the slowdown just didn't bother me that much.

I'd at least consider getting a One X. If you're going to be spending the money anyway, the X is a better upgrade. Not that the Pro is bad by any means, but it's basically a 1st party Sony machine for me. Anything 3rd party I play on the X, both because it's usually higher resolution and because it's much quieter. If you're sold on the Playstation though, I think it's still a worthwhile upgrade if you already have a 4K TV.

I'd consider looking at some of the 2nd tier cities. For example, Halifax, London, St. Johns, Saskatoon, Guelph, etc. They tend to be much cheaper to live in, but still have access to major services and businesses. If you're looking to travel, it's hard to beat southwestern Ontario. You can get to many major cities (Toronto, Ottawa, Chicago, Washington, New York, Detroit, etc.) in one day or less of driving. Realistically, if you're coming from the UK, almost anywhere outside of Toronto and Vancouver is going to be cheaper, at least in terms of housing.

French isn't my native language, but I think consoles are feminine. It's definitely la Playstation, la Xbox One, and la Switch. Though I wouldn't be surprised if that's not true everywhere French is spoken.

Console itself is femine, but for the individual consoles themselves it varies, the Switch is definitely feminine, but the Nintendo 64 is masculine. The playstation is kinda weird because I almost always hear the PS4 referred to as "Une PS4" but the PS3 as "Un PS3" This is in quebec, I'd definitely be curious to hear from other french speakers how they gender the playstation.

When I was reading more about this (because I apparently don't value my time), it seems like this is a quirk of Québecois French. The Nintendo 64 is feminine in France French, so are all the Playstations. It's interesting how this kind of thing can vary by region.

Destiny games drop in price really fast. I'd bet you'll be able to get the disc copy of the bundle for $50 CAD by the end of the year. It sounds like you play mostly solo anyway, so there's no need to get in at launch so you can play with people while they're still into it. Although, in your situation I'd probably just start over on PC. If you'll have to pay for PS Plus and have no other use for it, the PC version just seems like a better choice.

I use mine as a Pi-hole. Network-wide ad blocking. Devices that normally don't have ad blocking like my phone and my Xbox are now ad free.

That's what I use mine for as well. I was going to use it as a little emulation box, but I didn't end up using it much for that and thought it would be more useful as a Pi Hole.

I don't understand why they felt they needed to redesign the game. Just remake with modern graphics and VO, maybe tighten up the script a bit, and you're set.

If FF15 can make it through production then I have no doubt this can, too.

If they are dumping enough money into this game to give it modern graphics, they need to appeal to a much larger base than big fans of the original. If they kept the gameplay of a 20+ year old game, it would be a hard sell to new customers. Compared to other genres, JRPGs have changed a lot less, but there have still been lots of advancements in that time.

I'd like to see what they could do with a wrestling game. The extended Mario universe is dumb, wrestling is dumb, it's a great fit.

Octopath Traveler at the moment. I'm a sucker for JRPGs, but I just don't have time for them anymore. Hearing that it skews toward older mechanics (like grinding) has been enough to keep me away so far, but I'll probably cave and get it if it goes on sale.
