I remember when playing Xenoblade Chronicles that I got too bogged down in the side quest activities, and over a long period of time, I got tired of playing the game. That's not the game's fault, but rather my attention span. For Xenoblade Chronicles X, I'd like to play through the story and enjoy side quests here and there. Unlike many people here in the thread, I haven't played the open world games that have come out this year, so I'm looking forward to another adventure.

Reading through the thread, it has come to my attention that many Wii U owners have not been interested in the titles that have been published up until now. I certainly understand that point of view, but for someone like me who enjoys Nintendo games more so, I've been having a lot of fun. The Nintendo sale that is going on now has me in a pickle, as there are games that I would like to purchase with the discounts, but I also would like to purchase Xenoblade Chronicles X on or near the release date.

I am, however, heading towards the idea that now is a good time to play a game that has a lot of questing, mechs, an adventure where there's survival, and of course a ton of scenery. I'm looking forward to the game.

Thanks guys for making the video.

I remember when trying Ni No Kuni that I thought I would like it. RPG's are my thing and I like them a lot. The colorful art style and the story of finding a loved one all appealed to me. But man, I got into the game for awhile, but then the combat wore me down. I can't put my finger on it as to why or give any specific reason beyond that the combat system wasn't fun to play after awhile. There are those who argue that story is most important for an RPG, but I'm suggesting what others have said in that a combat system really has to click with you or it's a short ride.

When I tried Fallout 3 a few times, I thought I could get into the game then too. Again the combat system just wasn't for me.

@babychoochoo: For a long time, the Zelda franchise did not click with me either. It wasn't until A Link Between Worlds was released did I find real enjoyment. When I got a chance to play Wind Waker HD this year, I had some problems with it, but because of the enjoyment I had with with A Link Between Worlds, I kept going. It was then I realized that I liked Zelda games a lot more. It clicked for me in a way that I could get into. I think a lot of it is that I'm older now and have changed in my gaming tastes over the years. So I totally understand what you're saying about the Zelda franchise.

Austin, are you playing with the downloads installed from eShop to help with the game loading of assests? There's four of them available I believe, and I think there's at least one that's recommended to download to install before playing. I don't remember hearing your thoughts on the visuals during the combat and movement and characters.

Also, Rodea the Sky Soldier conversation was informative and I appreciate what Alex had to share about the game.

Thanks guys.

I had commented on the other thread too, but many titles caught my attention. I thought that there were solid releases lined up every month between now in November until April of next year. November (Yo-kai Watch/Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon), December (Xenoblade Chronicles X), January (Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam), February (Fire Emblem Fates: Conquest/Birthright), March (Twilight Princess HD), April (Star Fox Zero). That's a nice balance between 3DS/Wii U games to choose from. I think gaming looks really fun for many months to come.

Also, Austin, thanks for taking the time to write a news article about the Nintendo Direct. I like reading how you see things from your understanding of games, culture, and business models.
