That puffy air machine messes me up.

If you haven't gotten your eyes checked recently, there's a newer little handheld machine that most offices use that's really not that bad. It uses a lot of small quick puffs that you can't even feel as opposed to one big puff of air.

@zombievac: I don't think anyone in these comments seems all that outraged. Most people just seem largely indifferent towards the game or disappointed that more effort and care wasn't put into the writing. It's clear what the devs were trying to do, but I think they underestimated how difficult it is to actually do it well.

I remember playing this at PAX a couple of years ago and finding it incredibly difficult and hard to understand. I just assumed it was a game not well suited to being shown in that context, but it looks like the experience of playing the final release at home is similarly impenetrable.

That said, I love the look of it, and I'm sure there are some people that will be very into this sort of experience.

Not the best in the series, but this is definitely the entry that I've seen the most. There's just something about it that makes it perfect background noise for half-watching while doing something else.

Painful RWD/FWD discussions aside, I loved having a good reason to watch this movie again (even though I just watched it like a month ago). It's so damn good.

There's already plenty of comments about it, so I won't harp on it too much, but I really do hope you guys figure out how the weapon associated heat actions work. It seems like it's been accidental the few times Dan has done it because he doesn't seem to truly grasp the mechanic.

Two minutes in and so many mistakes in their description of the plot.

Cut them some slack. There are a lot of characters in these games and the organizational structure of the Yakuza can be difficult to grasp at times even when you're playing more often than once per week.

Count me among the other 20000 comments about not skipping voiced dialogue.

Totally agree, but he's said he'll try to do better in future episodes.

I've missed out on a lot of the same games this year. Hopefully I'll be able to hit a few of them in 2017 - especially hope I can get around to Titanfall 2 while there's still a solid multiplayer population.

Great list. A lot of the unique perspective and positive attitude that I've come to expect from you. Thanks for taking the time to write it up.

@alexw00d: What's your definition of debut if not "100% new IP that was released this year"?

That is definitely what it means, but I can understand some people feeling like "best debut" should be more about the best first product from a new studio. I'm kinda inclined to agree - I think it would make for a more interesting discussion and the people behind games like SUPERHOT and Stardew Valley deserve recognition for their efforts.

Not to say that the people at Blizzard don't also deserve praise for producing a great game like Overwatch, but it's not really all that surprising that a developer already responsible for some of the biggest IPs in gaming hit another home run.
