  • Maybe a little too long, if that is even possible, which is why I am yet to finish the game. Then why is at the top on your list? I here you ask, well because I know that the last few pieces won't break the epic masterpiece that Naughty Dog have created.

  • The surprise game of the year has definitely been that from Rocksteady. Based in the atmospheric locale of Arkham Asylum. The mix of characters with pristine voice acting, creates a deep story to explore and a stand-out gaming experience.

  • Gearbox Software have added the opportunity to work together to hunt for loot and complete missions, whilst interacting with a range of light-hearted characters in expansive locales. Infinitely more fun with the addition of co-operative drop-in multiplayer.

  • Infinity Ward’s Modern Warfare 2 was bound for success even before its release, and it definitely managed to deliver the goods. Succeeding in building on the massive success of CoD 4: Modern Warfare with an intense, twist-filled story and streamlined multiplayer mode.

  • The latest racing simulation game to reach the Xbox 360 came in the form of Turn 10’s Forza Motorsport 3. Noted for a clean presentation and accessible gameplay, the game makes it to the nominations after a praised review on Gamebrit.

  • Scepticism grew around the latest Halo title before its release, bringing a totally new look to the Halo universe, casting doubt over whether it would be as much of a success as the blockbuster trilogy. However, Bungie managed to implement an interesting team concept to keep the franchise strong.

  • Unlike the higher positions in my 2009 top 10, Killzone 2 was a highly anticipated title, shown over many E3 conferences. Not much disapointment from the hype, it may not have looked quite like what was shown, but the story, gameplay, and even multiplayer was intresting enough to entertain.

  • I really liked the latest Fight Night game this year, not too much to say, but it looks great, with a positive switch in control style and plenty of content to keep you pulling those punches.

  • A nice platformer that looks just like the latest Pixar movie, with a light-hearted story and lovable characters. Great times to be had, for everyone.

  • A great little arcade epic. It is surprising what you can do with a modern side-scroller.
