The Hunt For Gollum: LOTR: Made by fans for fans

I was listening to National Public Radio and was fascinated by this story. A non-profit fan made prequel to the Lord of the Rings. Director Chris Bouchard with the help of other fans are set to release a high definition 40 minute movie called "The Hunt For Gollum" over the internet Sunday May 3. There's some backlash as to copyright laws, but everything seems a go for Sunday, so I guess we'll see.

Dailymotion states it will show the full 40 minute movie when released: http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x8znyl_trailer-2-the-hunt-for-gollum_shortfilms
The main link seems to be down.

Here's a trailer.

Real Life: "SPOILERS" "Do not enter"

Deus EX made an appearance on my PC. It looked pretty good after modding it. I've played about 20 hours of it, good stuff... if you like stealth play or sneaking, in this case. On Steam, I bought the Ubisoft Classic Sale or whatever it was called for $10/US. Four games and I got;

Beyond Good & Evil: Played it on the PS2, great game. I'll play it... whenever. I have a gamepad if needed, but yeah... should be a trip.
Far Cry: Actually I have this, but my copy comes with some nasty "starforce" which I've cleansed myself of, so WTF.
IL-2 Sturmovik: 1946: I played the demo many years ago and liked it even with the keyboard and mouse. This game gives me a reason to pick up a flight stick, and I think I can find one on the cheap.
Dark Messiah of Might & Magic: I played the demo and liked it, but found too much bad in my research to purchase at full price. I knew I would like it... a little trial and error, but some fun to be had playing the same level over and over.

All these games are a good purchase in my mind.

Played in the Team Fortress 2 Bombing Run. I had a good time... I didn't know the maps very well, but maybe that's my bad.

Real Life: "Spoilers" "Do not enter"

Diary of a 44 year old gamer.

My wife's disease, LUPUS is not well. She has a diabetic ulcer on her heel and it will not heal. My brother-in-law... hung himself... he suffered from Behcet's disease... he had much pain and for whatever reason committed suicide.  My wife's sister "his wife" is a raging drug addict and has tried to commit suicide as well, but she likes to get high and now enjoys huffing "Dust Off"... what the fuck. She's at my house now, and we hope to send her to a home to get help, but...  we've tried before. My mother has been diagnosed with lung cancer, and I'm hanging on... playing my games. All of this is within the last week, thus is my life.

Love you all, take care. Thanks for reading.

Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10: Wii

IGN has a hands-on preview article up for Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 for the Wii. Here's a video.

This section of the article caught my attention: From IGN

One interesting note is that while PGA Tour 10 is set to ship this June, that doesn't necessarily mean the same is true of the MotionPlus peripheral. Now that I've played Tiger with all of this added control precision, I don't ever want to go back to the old Wii standard, but gamers who don't access to the MotionPlus add-on can still enjoy the title without it. "When the Wii MotionPlus is released, you can pick one up and it will work with your copy of Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10," says Shenkman.

Well... it seems Nintendo is the evil king again, kidding, but EA is releasing Wii Motion Plus compatible games even if Nintendo is sandbagging or whatnot. I still think this years version of Tiger Woods for the Wii will be the quintessential golfing experience. Now come on Nintendo... do your part, June can't get here fast enough.

Playing Games

The season is changing and so have my gaming habits. Not the time spent mind you, but the games played, and what a time I''ve had. Fallout 3 brought in the winter and I fell in, out, in, out... in...... and out of love with it. Dead Space was my treasure, my holiday strategic dismemberment. Fable 2 wasted away my pleasure in a frivolous pursuit, but for the loved ones. Some other games died a lonely death... a toy... not played much by me. "R.I.P. (Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts, Sid Meier's Civilization Revolution)". My World of Goo experience is still giving me a physics experiment I can't believe...crap... maybe later.

This season calls for basketball, college hoops style and I delivered. Old but new to me College Hoops 2K8, dance baby, dance.  Okami has made an irreverent  appearance onto my Wii. Stay strong my friend with hope, I will see you to the end. The Witcher: Enhanced Edition still has a strong hold on me. The little stories it tells, just picking it up and playing it in pages. Steam is still hot... is it not. 1080 Avalanche... now I be trippin', but fun to be had on the cheap, plus a downhill racer to be beat.

Shout out:Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09 All-Play... until motion plus support.

Thanks for reading...

A Big Fuck You To GiantBomb

No Caption Provided
That's it, a big fuck you.  I checked the forums and the Wii forum is more active than the hamburger forum. You know... I just want to play the games, not play games. yeah... whatever... I'm probably the loser here, passive aggressive sorrow.

*Edit*

"I was going to delete this, but I'm going to leave it as a reminder for me. You don't shit where you eat and don't piss in your chair. Sober up."

After Christmas/ New Year... playing games.

The winds of Christmas are dying down and there is a new glow in the air... a time to sit and a time to share.

The Earth is making a pigrimage pass once again around the sun. On a universal scale, this time is small, but it's with our scale that we count time. The New Year is every new moment and I live it, but New Year's Eve has been a favorite of mine... you can make it your own, but I like a good party. That party could be with the one you love... alone or with friends and acquaintances. I hope everyone here at GiantBomb has a happy and safe New Year.

It was a great lead up to the holidays, Fallout 3 kept me warm and cozy until the holiday games came to be mine. Here's what I'll be playing until my birthday in two weeks and probably beyond.

Dead Space: I've been playing this game since Christmas Day and I must say... well worth it. I love the genre and this game fits the bill. Like I've been saying "Nothing says peace on earth like strategic dismemberment".

World of Goo - WiiWare: Played the demo on Steam and bought the game with Wii Points. The Wii version plays just as well as the PC version. If you have any interest in puzzle games, do yourself a favor and play this game on a PC or Wii... just play it, you won't regret it.

Just bought:

Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts: This game kept moving up on my holiday wish list and beat out Civilization Revolution for a buy. I played the demo of Nuts and Bolts and wanted more and now I have it. It's still in shrink wrap, but I'll be playing this for a while.

Fable II: This game almost fell off my holiday wish list, but I found it on sale for $44.99. I'll be playing this all month as well.

What I didn't get:

My LCD HDTV... maybe sometime next year... no worries. I wanted one more game, but the monies ran dry.

My birthday is in two weeks, so that means more games... Oh, it feels good to be alive and be a video gamer.

See you next year GiantBomb, Happy New Year.

What Christmas means to me.

ReTarDedFisHy must like Christmas.
ReTarDedFisHy must like Christmas.
I'm agnostic, so I'm a hypocrite right? I like Christmas. Not so... says the one, who lives between these ears. After a hard day working in the "Santa Hat Factory" and spreading good cheer and spirit, I started to think... What does Christmas mean to me?

I was reared to be a Christian in the U.S. South, but through life experience and just being a curious little fuck, I found my own path. Christmas is big in my family and for me, family is the key word in that phrase. I've read some history on Christmas and about the many ancestral voyages it has taken to become what it is today and it's become many different things for whole lot of people.

I have a saying in my house and every year I say it with great joy and inflection. "This is going to be the best Christmas ever!" I've chopped down my  own Christmas Tree for the last 17 years, always cedar and always close to where I live. I start feeling a spirit come of over me, but sometimes things can go wrong. Car accidents, hospitalization and maybe, even a death in the family. I've seen it happen, but the good spirit of Christmas always comes creeping back in.

It's almost Christmas, get happy.
It's almost Christmas, get happy.
I often think about the Christ in Christmas and being
Dear Santa: Sigmund 1990-2005
Dear Santa: Sigmund 1990-2005
agnostic, I have my own views of him and have no problem... no beef with him. As for the ones who use "The Word" for precautionary tales and personally attack me, well there in lies a problem. It makes the hair stand up on the back of my neck, but like a troll, you must let them go and let the Mods of life keep an eye on them.

I like receiving PRESENTS and I like giving PRESENTS. Other than family, this is my second most enjoyable part of Christmas. The giving and receiving of gifts are along the same lines as the  "Spirit Of" that is Christmas for me.

There are other reasons, memories, traditions but those are the main two and so, Christmas has decided to make yet another appearence on this earth. With my own heart in hand, I will journey to the families that love me most and we will receive and give each other the good spirit that is Christmas.

Here's to you GiantBomb, in my best politicly correct voice. "Happy Holidays"
