@efesell: I'm not saying there should be a refund because a specific thing didn't show up. I'm saying they should get a refund because the big event of the evening (a specific evening that has always been directly targeted at blizzards most hardcore fans) was a freemium gacha game.

And it's not like the fans started rioting or personally attacked the people on stage. They just made it clear that this is not what they wanted. Something blizzard should have known in advance but was somehow out of touch enough not to.

Keep in mind, people have not behaved like this in the prior years of blizzcon. No, not even for hearthstone. Maybe the people didn't get exponentially more shitty this year. Maybe Blizzard is the problem here.

@efesell: I'm not usually a fan of gamers acting entitled and combative like this, but the guy paid 200 dollars to go to that event and the big reveal was a phone game. A phone game that could generously be described as not being made with the fans in mind.

Personally, I have no issue with people in his position throwing salty jokes at blizzard. Frankly, I think the classy move here would be to refund all of those people.

@doom616: Speaking as a white dude I'm not sure I care much about being represented in my games. I know. Easy to say you don't care when you're the one getting the representation.

For whatever reason I don't care about characters looking anything like me other than on gender. I don't know why the gender thing is important to me but it is a big bonus to me if the game gives me the option to play as a dude. Whatever the dudes skin color is doesn't bother me much.

Of course I have no idea if my opinion would hold on that if I didn't usually get the option to play as a white guy though. I definitely think more developers should give gamers options on who to play as.

I can't say that I expected anything on the level of Breath Of The Wild for 2018 but I can understand people being diaappointed.

Personally, I'm a huge fan of smash bros, and I've gotten a ton out of indie games on the switch. I don't play during commute or anything, I just like having games I can play in bed. I'm just about wrapped up with Dead Cells and will be double dipping on Risk of Rain tonight.

I failed my driving test 4 times, I'm an anxious person in general and the driving test ratcheted that up a lot. That was five years ago and now I drive for a living. I've never had an accident or a ticket and my passengers seem very comfortable with my driving. Just keep at it, and try a different testing center. Those guys you mentioned seem borderline hostile which is a strange trait for driving instructors.

Ha I've had the same problems of having trouble branching out. A game that helped me approach a new genre is Endless Legend. It's got elements of games you've struggled to get into in the past (it is a turn based strategy game) but unlike other games of its type it's got a ton of personality. There's a story for each of the factions, the art is fantastic and it's got one of the best soundtracks I've ever heard. It's also got surprisingly strong world building, and has gotten me invested in it's world in a way that usually only happens with my favorite RPGs.

The only concern is it maybe being a little more complicated than your usual. I was worried about the same thing so I did my first campaign on easy and found it to be almost impossible to fall behind at that level.

Anyway, hopefully that helps. You might also want to check out Divinity Original Sin for a PC RPG that's actually enjoyable to play.

Just wondering if anyone else has checked this out yet. I've been playing it nonstop the past few days and it's great.

For those who don't know its an arena brawler featuring 14 heroes and moba style combat. It's very fast paced and competitive. Good for scratching that Mona itch without the long games and grinding. Anyone else give it a shot yet?

Had no idea this had local co-op. I picked it up on PC only to find it was online only. I'll have to give this one a shot on PS4. Should be a great time.

In no particular order

The Dark Knight

Groundhog Day

Inception

Her

The Storm of the Century (Certainly not in the top 100 movies of all time, but I'm a sucker for Stephen King and this movie does King in a way no other has so it's top 5 for me).

Beyond that I couldn't say, I don't really have a top 10. Loving the other lists here though, I'm really gonna have to watch some of these movies. Maybe I'll catch 12 Angry Men sometime this week.

The only area where this seems true to me is with MMOs. A while back I was looking for an MMO to try out but they all seemed to be rocking some mixture of WoW/anime graphics which really didn't do it for me.

On another note, I completely agree with Johny up there that fantasy games need to bring back the fantasy. Luckily, the new Divinity game seems to be building on that and the new Torment game looks like its shaping up all right. Still, it would be nice to see that sort of thing in a bigger budget game. Hoping the new Elder Scrolls gets real weird with it.
