How come I never played this game? Was there anything else released a year ago that could possibly have taken up my time?
I should play this game.
You should, it's great.
There's even a demo of it on Steam, although the early parts of the game are definitely the weakest.
I reckon one reason for the game's lack of popularity is its pricing - I had it on my Steam wishlist for ages waiting for that 'I'll take a punt on it' sweet spot and that only seemed to happen in the winter sale just past.
I'm not saying Dying Light isn't a worthy $60 title, but if it had gone on offer more often then it might have had more converts.
@clagnaught: I'd figured that it was time to take the series out to the woodshed, with a rifle or possibly a large bucket of water. Y'know, tell the kids that Metal Gear Scanlon V has gone to live on a farm far away?
Quitting just doesn't seem very 'Dan', however. ;)
I found the Quiet resolution genuinely affecting although it's probably because I'm a sucker for melodrama and mission 45 had left me physically drained. ;)
@humanity: After about 10 hours of chapter 2 I started to get the feeling that either Konami had pulled funding or the game had been released before its time. Whether any of that is true, I felt things were rushed and the mission repetition just added to the feeling.
I've not done the 180 that Dan seems to because that first 60 hours were damn great, but I always include a caveat when recommending MGSV to anyone.
