Yeah, this DLC is very good. I just think it needed more content. It doesn't anything especially unfair compared to the base game and past titles... there have always been ambushes and sniper archers, and this DLC isn't just that. A little too heavy on the hordes, but it's still nothing like Iron Keep in SOTFS, you can easily circumvent having to fight a pile of enemies by just remaining mindful of aggro range. And yeah, having to deal with the first two phases of the boss when the third phase is the really hard part is a bit annoying. But the base game had that issue as well.

I heard that the DLC second is a bit larger and I think as a pair, the DLCs will make a really compelling package(especially if they are connected by finding the dark soul of man to use as pigment for a new painted world, holy crap that's cool). Here's hoping it has at least three main bosses though, if the next DLC is two again I'll be very sad.

Also, I was wondering does anything actually happen with you finish the DLC? I beat the boss and the girl upstairs says thanks and says she'll finish the painting but nothing really happens. Someone left a message in front of the altar in the boss room saying to do a gesture but I don't know if that's bs or not. I assume it's a reference to DS1 but I never finished it.

Her dialogue if you speak to her a second time after beating the boss:

Soon, uncle Gael will bring me the pigment

I wonder if he has found it

The dark soul of man...

I think we have Dark Souls 2 situation where the next DLC will end with some sort of key item we take to this DLC to trigger a cutscene.

Did anyone else feel like "Playtest" was totally Drew Scalon playing Hideo Kojima's new horror game? Literally could not stop thinking that.

I fell like someone dropped the ball with the marketing, I didn't even know this thing existed until recently.

Battlefield Prehistoric Era. Since people seemed so upset with COD going full star wars, let's give them what they really want.

Picture this E3 demo. Oog goes searching for triceratops eggs, but is immediately ambushed by a group of Uhg Ehrm bonemen (your traditional loadout, fishbone gun + primordial soup canisters, click the stick to melee with massive dino bone) but the sound of shrieking is heard overhead. Oog looks up to see pterodactyl aerial support from his fellow Durga-bogah Bonk Bonks. Zoom out to see this happening all over the map. Volcanoes are killstreaks.

Wow, what's with the universal hatred of Dark Souls II? I thought it was a great sequel that gave me most of everything I wanted. I liked it more than Bloodborne and III so far, and far and away the weakest game in the series at this point is Demon's Souls. It's not even a contest. It was novel and interesting in 2009 but it really doesn't work well in light of the improvements in the "sequels."

A lot of people would take interesting and novel over the more rehashy stuff dks2 trades in. I liked dks2 more than des as well, but Bloodborne is far and away better than dks2 in my opinion.

Opinions are funny, they're all subjective and stuff.

Highlight of the DLC for me was that Crow Village. The shift from weak little punk enemies to those hyper crow knights was a cool moment. The Crow Knights in general are just so cool, their weapons are practically trick weapons (well one of them at least).

I liked the final boss well enough but three phases was more frustrating than fun, especially when the 2nd phase can bea little tedious and the third phase can kill you so quickly...

I agree with the overall sentiment that this DLC is a tad on the small side, but I still enjoyed all the content. Only area that felt especially lacking design wise was the snowy mountain passage after you find the painter girl. That kinda just felt like Dark Souls 2 style "enemy copy-pasta'd everywhere" placement.

I personally don't think Skyrim is better than FO4, but if I had to say why it may be generally more well liked I'd say FO4 betrayed too much of what made FO3 and Skyrim fun (roleplaying ) with the more restrictive dialogue system (and story).

Honestly, I think Skyrim experienced its own fair share of diminishing returns being after FO3. FO4 is the just the more severe case of diminishing returns, where even more people felt fatigued by the formula and to a greater degree. I probably put more hours in FO3 than Skyrim, and I haven't even finished FO4.

They need to try making new games, like actually new games.

INCOMING SNOBBERY: Or they could try making a game with actual combat, instead of the absolute bare minimum. To me, both FO3 and FO4 are automatically better than Skyrim because they have guns, instead of exclusively having Betheseda's wonky melee combat. Skyrim's combat essentially feels like a Half-life mod with just the crowbar available. I'd prefer some depth. Recent games like Dark Souls or For Honor prove there can be a lot more interesting ways to tackle melee combat.

This is a prequel about Dutch's gang in the vein of the magnificent seven. It's gotta be.

Also, I was going to say the title is fine but then I saw "Red Dead Reunion". If this is the game I think it is, that would've be a neat title. Oh well, it's not any dumber than Metal Gear Solid 2.
