@the_nubster: Thanks for the thoughtful reply! I'll admit the idea of playing a re-imagined DR2 before playing the first version kinda bugged me, but I wasn't sure if DR2's story stuff was anything to write home about. I'm not too worried about the extra content, in fact, it's probably better to save it as a incentive to play Off the Record. So sounds like I'm going with Chuck Greene's version of the events. I kinda thought his story was a more interesting one, glad to hear it actually is. Thanks again.

Sorry for the Necro but I was gonna to make a thread asking the same question. Both versions are on PS4 now and I was wondering if any more people had advice as to which one I should buy (I realize they're selling all three as pack but I kinda want to save money and just get one for now).

I played Dead Rising 1 and really liked the character of Frank West, but am I missing out on anything by playing Off the Record first?

That's really strange. Equip load doesn't affect attack speed (at least as far I know), so it couldn't be that. What weapon are you using? If it's a halberd type weapon, there's a mechanic in DS1 only where you stagger if you don't hit an enemy.

I really like Demon's Crest on the SNES, and I feel it's pretty overlooked. I recommend checking it out if you like castlevania/metroid.

I don't cosplay but if I did, I would find a buddy and go as Ornstein and Smough.

I'm all about Yakuza 0. Missed out on 5, so I'm pretty ready for another one of those. A lot of these games are gonna need good reviews before I consider buying them though, especially RE7 and the new IPs.

RE7 and the new IPs is the name of my post punk band by the way.

Likely just a "I want to go this direction, and I can't necessarily do it at Gamespot" kinda thing. Unfortunately, bigger sites have a lot of quotas and big swaths that need to be hit (cuz money is a thing) versus the crowd that might like things like documentaries.

Sooo why'd he leave Gamespot? I mean, it's cool that's he's branching out and doing his own thing (it's always good to see someone taking risks to do something original), but I'm just curious as to why he left for this.

Dang. Well, even more power to him then, it's a admirable thing to follow your heart like that.

I just rewatched the bat/knife one, and I gotta say I love your work. The animation has a nice home movies vibe to it, but I also reeeeeally like how you work in sound effects and music, totally elevates it.
