I was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis in January, spent some time in a hospital, and took Prednisone for a number of months after diagnosis. My symptoms have disappeared for the most part (bleeding, pain, weakness), but I'll have to take Mesalamine for the foreseeable future, or the rest of my life, depending on remission. I have some food restrictions I'll have to live with, but many other people have worse restrictions, so I'm not too shaken up about it.
