@sweep I played Gone Home in an empty house during a thunderstorm which is probably partially why i loved that game so much. I'll probably wait for a rainy weekend to play this game.
I think of a 10/10 as a game that has almost no flaws. Some of my favourite games of all time like FF7 and Kingdom Hearts II I know have problems that I can look past. These are the games that I genuinely think come as close to being perfect as a video game can be.
A Link to the Past
Super Mario Bros. 3
Super Mario World
The Last of Us
Fez
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3
NBA 2K11
StarCraft
If you're looking at giving games a 5 out of 5 then the amount of games included drastically increases. I actually prefer the 5 out of 5 rating system that GB uses since it reminds me of the old X-Play days.
This guy knows whats up. I would probably add a few more Blizzard games and a lot more Nintendo games. Also Portal.
Man... what the hell happened to Metric? I'm now convinced Live it Out was a total fluke, because I haven't come close to liking anything they's done since. They've been offensively bland, but "The Shade" is whole new level of awful. It reeks of the kind of disposable pop formula you typically hear at an amusement park or Today Show performance.
I wasn't completely turned off by Synthetica (Not even close to my favorite album but I enjoy it from time to time) but I don't even know what to say about whatever that was. This is giving me the same reaction I had for Muse' Psycho where I'm not sure if the band got switched with aliens or some shit.
ha- they've definitely been making a run for the money for awhile now. @roomrunner i think you have it right, they've been dodgy since 'live it out.' i do have a permacrush on emily haines however, so i'll always take a listen. but yes- this is fairly terrible.
I'm a hardcore Metric fan but... yeah. They are enjoying the mainstream success. Here is more melancholy stuff (a cover) recently. Emily Haines is still amazing.
Also, Aphex Twin keeps on putting old stuff online under random usernames
