I just want to say that I am a Drew convert. I started following Giant Bomb well after Whiskey Media days and the Sausalito stuff, so I never thought of Drew as an intern folding shirts. To me Drew was always just "the video guy who helped Vinny". And I'll be honest, sometimes when he was on the bombcast I would think to myself, "Meh, Drew seems alright but I'm getting kind of bored of his non-games discussion".
But the longer I watched the site and the more bad puns I endured, the more Drew grew on me. He always comes across as professional, smart, and kind. He's grown on me so much that I honestly have a hard time picturing what Giant Bomb looks like without him. I have no doubt that many amazing moments would not have been possible without Drew in the control room, quick with the transitions. No offense to Jason, of course, who has been doing a great job.
But that's life, right? People move on, and things change. And we obviously haven't seen the last of Drew; he will be stopping by as a guest every now and then. It's still a bitter pill to swallow. Thanks for all the memories, Drew. No matter how many times you frustrated me while playing Metal Gear, I relished every second of it (and I think the blame partially falls on Dan for that anyway). I'm sure the sentiments I'm expressing have been said by a million people before me but I had to say something, so I hope you'll forgive me if my words seem derivative or by-the-numbers.
Love ya Drew, don't stay away too long.
