Reviews matter a great deal to me. There are games I'll get no matter what the reviews say. Like the next Mass Effect. But for games that don't fall into that category, I greatly rely on reviews to aid my decision. Like the new Alpha Centauri. I was planning on getting that, but didn't, because of weak reviews. I had no plans on getting the new Doom, but did, after it recieved very strong reviews.
I would be, and if I can find a "physical" PC copy of it, I'll get it, even if it is just a windows store code, and not an install. Under no circumstance will I give my card details to the windows store, no matter how much I'd like to play it.
Never enjoyed 1 or 2. I literally started the original 5 times over several years, but stopped playing it every time, out of boredom. I finally managed to finish it out of spite. Had a little easier time with 2, but it never really hooked me either.
So you're saying I should forgo all the small initial steps with consumer kit, and go straight for the custom-built hydraulic racing cockpit with 180 degree wraparound screens? I read you loud and clear, brother.
