@pikapuff: I don't like a lot of Dan's antics in other videos, not my sense of humor, but I had no issues with him here. First off because at the end he admits at that point he probably still didn't fully understand what a tabletop RPG is (still mindblowing to me), but also because that's the kind of shit you sometimes do in tabletop RPGs. There's a moment like that in Austin's tabletop podcast Friends at the Table where one of the players does the same thing and that becomes the new campaign for that group in the season, and it's one of the best arcs in the whole thing.
@onemanarmyy: getting to who wins the award isn't the whole point though; the crew have explicitly said every year part of the reason they record their deliberations is so that they can give props to every game they feel warrants it in each category.
I can't believe the ending argument for Yakuza was everyone in favor of kicking it out saying "I didn't play the game, I wish I did". I understand everyone can't get to any game but when it comes down to it like that I think it's ridiculous to kick out Yakuza while admitting they haven't played it, especially when juxtaposed with Brad and Jeff admitting they almost overlooked Nier for this category.
Having played all the games, Wolfenstein was the odd man out. It's a great story, but at the end of the day it's a great action story, and I think the other three in the games do more interesting things and transcend that story.
wonder how much of the Damien love was due to that being the character Abby romanced. I dated all of them once and didn't choose his route because he wasn't interesting on the first date, would have gone with Mat or Brian (? been awhile, the chubby dad) instead.
