Interpol - Turn on the Bright Lights: Its too bad this band hasnt come close to matching this album. Lyrically average but musically impressive. Track Suggestion: Leif Erikson, The New, PDA, Untitled.
Agalloch - The Mantle: A metal band that has admitted to being more influenced by Godspeed You! Black Emperor than any metal band. Post Rock for those of us with a metal persuasion and a perfect entry for anyone whos interested in jumping into the genre. Track Suggestion: The Celebration for the Death of Man..., And The Great Cold Death of the Earth, A Desolation Song.
Neutral Milk Hotel - In The Aeroplane Over the Sea: What can be said that hasnt already been said...The best album of the 90s.(Yes even better than OK Computer) Track Suggestion: Holland, 1945. Oh Comely, The Two Headed Boy Pt. 2., In The Aeroplane Over the Sea,
The Beatles - Abbey Road: The last Beatles album...to think amid the toil and arguments George Martin got the band focused and in the process they recorded a masterpiece. The second half is absolutly unmatched. Track Suggestion: Something, Here Comes The Sun "The Medley" You Never Give Me Your Money, Sun King, Mean Mister Mustard, Polythene Pam, She Came In Through The Bathroom Window, Golden Slumbers, Carry That Weight, The End.
Sigur Ros - Ágætis byrjun: Their second album but first with the sound that made them famous. Much like Bjork the music couldnt come from anywhere but Iceland. Majestic, and triumphant. ( ) often gets credited as their best but IMO this album is teir most consistant. Track Suggestion: Ny Batteri, Vidar Vel Til Loftarasa, Svefn G Englar, Olsen Olsen, Staralfur(The song my wife walked down the aisle to)
If you like any of the single tracks please listen to these entire albums...its impossible to pick the best song on any of these. Also alot of great choices in here."
*Gives Mercator a hug* Can we be best friends? (Our Love to Admire sucked! Huge disappointment)
Whether you liked Halo or not is largely irrelevant. Halo is anything but average. It's one of the top selling games of all time and one of the first games to have it's released compared by many to that of " a summer blockbuster." I've never played any of them all the way through but even from an outsider's view I can tell the series is far from average.
I'm not really that big of a Final Fantasy fan though. I really enjoyed FFVI but that was the only one I could really get into. I got a lot of enjoyment out of the recent DS port of Chrono Trigger, and I've been playing some Final Fantasy III on the DS as well. I'm a huge Persona fan. I'd count Persona 4 among my favorite games I've ever played and I'm definitely picking up Persona 3 FES. Unless you count Pokemon, I'm kinda new to the genre but I've had a lot of fun so far!
That's not to say there aren't a bunch of really mediocre JRPG's though. Many, maybe most, are nearly identical in story structure and gameplay. But I try to avoid those so it's totally chill.
Happy Monday guys! Sorry for the late recap, busy day. See you tomorrow!
Several thoughts on improving the recaps:
-More selective? Less selective? -Should I bring back old categories? Create new ones?
If you have any thoughts on the matter, or suggestions of your own, I would love to hear from you!

Cream of the Crop?
Totally my opinion. Most of my picks are blogs that focus on recent issues in gaming, analysis on certain games, or generally anything well written and interesting. I'm often wrong though and I apologize if I miss a truly well written blog.
