There was also a new Strider this year.
Yes you probably all forgot.

Game is ok btw, nothing too spectacular but enjoyable enough.

I'm also avoiding Heartstone like the plague since it's most likely going to be a game in the same category.

@beachthunder: Isn't The Witness like an open world puzzle game, while Talos is more like a hub world connecting multiple levels (haven't played the game yet). If so that might be the leg up over Talos, or at least it's diversifying aspect.

What do you think are some of the best games that pandered almost exclusively to fans?

Mine:

  • Resident Evil 6
  • Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots
  • Dissidia: Final Fantasy (duodecim)
  • Mass Effect 3 (Citadel DLC)
  • Super Smash Bros.
  • Hyrule Warriors
  • Persona Q Shadow of the Labyrinth

Yeah there was a clear pretty clear explanation for those. I didn't question it to much.

  • Dragon Quest VIII Journey of the Cursed King (most cell shaded games)
  • Okami (again, just awesome style)
  • Shadow of the Colossus (still impressive)
  • Fatal Frame (ghosts are still scary as hell)
  • Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance
  • Jak and Daxter games
  • Silent Hill 3 deserves a mention, characters look better then in Homecoming.

Well there is kind of slang term in my language that roughly goes like "He got mortal kombat'd" or "He gave him mortal kombat" (as in a beating)

Sports games, easy.
You are better off going outside and playing them anyway or just watch them on TV.

The belief is that if you spend a lot of time on something you are usually enjoying yourself.

But there are moments where no matter how much I played a game and how much fun I had with it, after the whole addiction is over I just end up hating the game and regret the fact that I spent that much time on it.

The games that made me feel this way are:

  • World of Warcraft: Spent like a whole year being addicted to this game, and now I couldn't imagine myself going back to it ever again. I also ended avoiding MMO's since.
  • League of Legends: Again, spent like 1 year and a bit playing it and now I'm done with the whole MOBA thing.

This seems to happen only with highly addictive games for some reason.

  1. Did you go through the same thing?
  2. Did you notice this being mostly related to highly addictive game?
  3. What are some of the games you would dread going back to now, despite having played a lot?
