Hell yeah @vinny, there's some real charm in the "mass produced" gundams. I think the cream of the crop are the ones that are "mass produced" but "special" in their own ways... like being part of a small task force of side characters. I recommend kits like the master grade Jesta or ReZEL Type-C if you want to get some recent-ish kits.

What really should happen is them hiring another person to the team that actually likes slower paced games and doesn't dismiss Japanese games as "anime," like Jan. Ben's got the latter part down, but he doesn't seem to like slower paced games, and Jan's busy with production stuff so it'd be too much to ask him to be the sole voice for that genre.

I think people are right in saying the team's preferences are heavily biased, and people are also right in saying it's a personality driven show so they shouldn't be forced to "like" certain games. They just need more varied people for varied personalities.

@morningcoffee: Yeah I'm always surprised when Jeff says he's played and enjoyed the previous AC games, since the whole "the game dictates its own pacing" that seems completely core to the series does NOT seem like something he'd like. Then again, he's also quite hard headed in weird ways, so maybe the additional amount of railroading that ACNH has is too different for him.

I think it's a bigger issue with game reviewers in general, but they REALLY don't apply flexibility in terms of how to play games, since they generally spend less time with each title and have more games lined up. They keep talking as if they're being forced to min-max the game, but there's absolutely nothing that actually is... dunno why they're interpreting it that way.

Oh my goodness I'd kill for a MM Battle Network collection. Actually just dug up a bunch of old carts for them from my shed, but having them available on modern platforms would be great!

lol speaking as someone with Japanese as their first language, good god that grandma's accent is bordering on offensive. The front desk girl sounds like she's Japanese, and the handyman is a maybe, leaning on not.

I love Outer Wilds but Cadence of Hyrule was robed. Robed!

Nah, but it was dressed and tunic-ed.

Beautiful.

(But yeah it was robbed. Can never seem to agree with GB on how they handle the music category.)

Man I vaguely remember back when I was a kid, there was an old Japanese games/toy store in Burlingame with a big ol' Wing Gundum painting on the window. Kind of weird hearing from Jeff that he also went to that town for games lol

The intro discussion reminds me how much it drives me crazy when Ben and Jason skip the "intro" to each Asura's Wrath chapter lol

It's formatted as a playable anime! Let the intro set the mood!
