@milkman: I agree with her that you shouldn't let the media's fear-mongering of a consumer revolt scare people out of the industry. It's not as scary as everyone's making it out to be if you actually take the time to do some research, or maybe even watch some streams. Well, sites like Gawker should probably be afraid with all the advertisers agreeing with us and pulling out.
This sucks that it happened to her, but it's also an obvious false flag to anyone who isn't new to the internet. Not as bad as the 8chan "death threats" where all the posts have the same ID(which means they're all by the same person), but close. And I'm not claiming Anti-GG doxxed her or anything, but what people still don't seem to understand is that there are 3rd party trolls like FYAD who play both sides and I wouldn't be surprised if this was their work too. Pro-GG reports any harassment and doxxing as soon as they see it, even when it's against an Anti-GG. Felicia Day's doxxer was no exception and was reported by everyone as soon as someone mentioned it on the hashtag.
Yep, gonna side with XSEED on this and I'm glad they didn't cave in. It's based off of the "It's a Trap!" meme and not meant to be transphobic like some people want to make it out to be. I guess if you don't read much manga or watch much anime, where the term is prevalent and marketed as a fetish, it could be offensive, but then you're probably not the target audience in the first place. FYI, a reverse trap is when a girl looks convincingly like a guy. Also, despite what XSEED's statement says, traps aren't always trying to deceive others and can just naturally look cute to the same hetero sex, usually exaggerated for comedic effect.(Ie. Hideyoshi Kinoshita) Replacing it with another term just wouldn't be right in context.
I was going to use the 'smoke a fag' example, but I see the statement already used something similar. Well, I guess I'm done here. Feel free to continue the arguing.
I think it would actually be interesting to have a discussion about this
That's what I was thinking. It kind of sucks you can't discuss anything about Zoe due to all the crap she's gone through. I was wondering why her section in the forum here had zero topics in it, I guess anything that gets posted gets deleted.
I just came across this blog concerning Zoe Quinn that's apparently from her ex-boyfriend. According to the post, she lied to and cheated on him with at least 5 guys, including her boss(who's married) and a game journalist from Kotaku. It's a long read, but there's also a TL:DR version linked early in the post.
