to dan, in the wake of rdr2, relieved to play a video game ass video game. im a tlou2 diehard but im still shocked how much of a breath of fresh air this game is!
PLUS for as much as the structure of it is "nothing new", the camera mode is a new industry standard and the mastering it seems very exciting to me :)
the emotional arc of our protagonists is so clearly realized and is the most important thing in the game: everything is in service to it, including it's dozens of hours of story progression and how they are presented chronologically and in what light (literally). as a filmmaker i appreciate how hard that is to sustain and i think they pulled it off because i felt this whole damn thing. not for everyone definitely for me tho!
@trulyalive: where's the sad reacc... did you get the shotgun? they'll give me another one right?? they certainly used a shotgun in that early story moment
i did a few side things in the first big Seattle area that's been in all the press, but my partner kept pointing out the ludonarrative dissonance of not pressing forward! so i did and now i can't seem to go back there atm and watching the quick look it seems i've missed the shotgun there 😒 do i have to load an old save?
it's a psx game. 2d platformer with 3d graphics a la dk country. i think there's shooting? your man's in a yellow jumpsuit. he works at a time or dimension-hopping company. in the opening cutscene before the alarms go off and he heads out, he's playing a handheld version of this very video game. i don't know if it's a meta thing or a training exercise. anyway do you shoot or run away from like gorillas in the first level or something maybe?
yo! the one link to a giant bomb emblem I've found in these threads forwards to something else. anyone else got a link? also feel free to share any other cool emblems you think people would dig!
I played through the prologue (hospital stuff) and i get stuck at this install screen. there aren't any prompts to clear space or anything, and there's a countdown timer that doesn't go. anyone else have this problem? does it say anywhere exactly how much space is needed?
yo duders. I had to cut this scene from my short film because it's incredibly specific and i'm sure you all are among the only people who would actually appreciate it. enjoy!
