@inspectorfowler: Yeah like Drew says in the video, he has it gated so it's not there the whole time...Basically when the duders stop talking, all sound is completely off so you don't hear the hum, but when they start talking again it gets picked up.
Hmm you guys have been having a problem with a rather low frequency, muffled kind of hum whenever any of you are talking...Idk if you got new audio gear or what, but it's a bit distracting. Maybe just try a high pass filter at about 40hz?
At 57 minutes they say the AC vents have gotten louder! So that must be what it is. It seems Jason hates it as much as I do :P
EDIT: Also, that being said, you guys should look into some very quick EQ/filtering. Cutting anywhere from 40-60Hz would alleviate the problem a bit and your audio would sound fine.

I need like...A high pass filter to watch this video lol. There's some weird low frequency hum going on, combined with some odd compression/noise gate choice. WEIRD!!...
I used to play Downwell like Mary, then I got annoyed with how long it takes and switched to the arm swinging style or whatever it's called. Shops are rare and you get upgrades from the time bubbles, no gems. That way you can take your time and maybe even purposely break your combo so you don't take damage. I ended up with 7 or 8 hearts when I beat the boss.
As an added bonus you'll get a lot of extra charges/power/whatever it's called, too. So by the time you get to the boss, the laser kicks total ass and doesn't ruin you.
If you get the knife and fork with that style, especially early on, you're fucking set. Cause then you can just focus on eating corpses as opposed to comboing, which will make you miss the corpses.
