  • Almost the second this game started I knew I was in for something special. It's not without its faults, but the characters Shepard meets on his/her journey were a pleasure to interact with and get to know. And Thane might be the coolest character design ever. It's too bad he was one of the two squad members I had die during the suicide mission. I'll make sure you make it through to see the end on the next playthrough!

  • This game pulled me back to RTS gaming in a big way. After the complete lack of care given to C&C after Westwood's EA acquisition, I haven't had much too be excited about in the genre (Ensemble died to me after AoE 2). I played the original StarCraft when I was in middle school, but was always too afraid to compete online. With over a decade's worth of time and the release of StarCraft's successor I finally gained confidence. Hundreds of matches later on Battle.net I am in love with a genre that I've hardly played, much less given any thought about, in many, many years. That has to count for something, doesn't it? This is one of my favorites of the year.

  • This expansion pack dragged me back into this soul-sucker of a game after a nearly two year absence. The pre-expansion patch has made the early content a joy to experience again. I never thought I'd come back to this, even though I have never been in any way "addicted" to this game like many, but I am dedicating a lot of time to it with a couple of friends. Everything is even more streamlined than before. Getting into an instance group is effortless, quests are marked on regional maps, and talent trees have been revamped.

  • The greatest indie titled I've ever played. For all of the mileage I got out of this game I almost feel like I cheated Notch by only paying $15. Creepers--burn in hell.

  • The best 2D platformer of the year. Tough and challenging without being infuriating, like the another favorite in the genre this year--Super Meat Boy. I love the Super Metroid style map. Despite the game's simplistic look there is a lot of great humor in the game, and each room that's a part of a stage has its own name giving the game some extra personality. The music is also some of the best of the year in any game.

  • The gameplay was terrible, and the controls certainly didn't help that fact. The city of Greenvale was pretty ho-hum. I wish I could forget what was undoubtedly the worst in-game map in gaming history. Judging from that, you may be thinking that I've mistaken the GOTY 2010 list for Worst Piece of Garbage on a Disc 2010 Award, but this game is totally on the right list. Deadly Premontion belongs here for my favorite story and cast of characters I've gotten to know in 2010.

I was more than willing to guide Agent Francis York Morgan on his twenty plus hour journey through the Northwestern town of Greenvale--a place full of bizarre happenings and even more bizarre citizens. Prophetic coffee creamer, a sheriff with an awesome handlebar mustache, mysterious red seeds, delicious biscuits, and cars which are not able to reach top speeds of ones manufactured half a century ago are some of the wild and wacky things you can expect to see. And how could I forget the music? I'm rambling on to a community that ought to know this game inside and out.

And if you haven't watched the Endurance Run yet, give this one a playthrough by yourself first.
