Looks like Undertale got shafted for best music. I was going to post all the best music from the game so people could see how it was robbed, but then I realized there is no point. There will be plenty more discussions in the GOTY deliberations that will be full of disappointment so it's better to get used to it now.
Sounds like my top 2 games (Bloodborne, and Undertale) are going to be buried. At least Witcher 3 is getting some recognition. Any bets on it not even getting included for best story/narrative thing when it should win 1st, 2nd and 3rd place?
I've had the chance to read up on the DOAX3 controversy and I just don't understand people. Why do people get mad about products not aimed at them? If they have no intention of buying said product why be so outraged by digital girls playing on a beach? Western media is literally EXPLODING with female sexualization (Film, TV, Magazines, etc.) and yet the world hasn't ended.
Koei Tecmo didn't want the game coming over because they felt it wasn't worth their time and money to deal with the inevitable backlash (all games in the volleyball series had faced similar criticism) from Western video games media. Seems reasonable to me.
Now that I've had my sleep and gotten started playing this, I can say it doesn't feel difficult outside of bossesl, being a Bloodborne player who remembers the mechanic the game builds on of shooting an enemy at the right time in an attack to stagger them, then giving a riposte. This even works on the big mofo with the axe on the stairs, all of that kind.
Evne better, those NPC hunters aren't the insane health insane damage ones you were made to think. They're pieces of cake thanks to riposte. Worth the cash. Remind yourselves about the riposte mechanic if you're having a difficult time.
(Disclaimer: It really helps to not be NG+X because the way BB does it. Stupidly increased amounts of health and damage there.)
I'm doing it in NG+ and the damage is no joke. My lv 99 character with 30 VIT is getting two shotted. The gun parry works fine when it connects, but any miss essentially means death since the enemy wont get stun locked by the missed shot and will follow up with a 2 hit combo to basically end me.
I feel that normal game in the DLC would feel way too easy because it allows for sloppy play.
Didn't the Witcher 2 also get dismissed because no one had played enough of it? I haven't listened to the bombcast yet, but from what people are saying it sounds like they are literally STILL AT THE START OF THE GAME. It's an RPG. It's a long game. Seems like no one is going to beat the game before GOTY deliberations.
