Someone want to TL;DR this whole thing for me?

Huh? Everything you need to know about is in the OP.

How do you know this? Do you see what other people are betting? This is what I mean. TL;DR the ins and outs. THE INS AND OUTS MANG!

There's nothing really complicated about it. You start with $400 (not real money, of course), and then you can bet any amount of that on either character before the match starts. You can never get below $10. The less the odds are in your favor (calculated by comparing the amount of money bet on either character against eachother), the more you win if your character wins. You can see who bet what amount of money on what character on the left.

This stuff is amazing. The 'metagame' of trying to find consistency in what characters will win is hilarious, especially since there are so many completely unbalanced characters that you can't possibly measure them all against eachother. Some random loli girl beating wolverine doesn't mean shit in the grand scheme of things since you don't know if the girl was just good or if wolverine was simply awful.

My current rule that's sorta working: bet on the shittiest looking sprite. If a character looks like actual effort went into it, the creator probably considered making him/her balanced at some point. On the other hand, sloppy pallete swaps or mspaint figures with 5 frames of animation tend to be either completely harmless or complete monsters, which makes betting on them worth the risk.

RIP Ryan Davis. I immensely enjoyed his work over the past year I discovered Giant Bomb.

If anything had to stop the Bomcast, I'm glad it's the big man himself.

I don't know if they look good in Animal Crossing because I don't have the game yet, but here you go:

I started with $10, and after an hour of buying and selling beta invites I've ended up with $9.50 and one spare invite I'm going to sit on for tonight hoping the price explodes overnight.

I'm a terrible businessman, but at least I had fun.

There's a super-secret ending to Safety Instructions if you cheat. If anyone is having trouble with the nightmare mode, here's the autoit/autohotkey code for all the phrases so you can just press '=' to cheat your way through

Funny little game, but infuriating if you don't have a US keyboard due to the placement of the ' key!

Can someone please explain to me how to use this?

Best and most memorable game of 2012.

One of the very best games of this generation.

Highly recommended.

Go in blind.
