Only MS titles targeted for this (and specifically XBLA Summer of Arcade) - so is this the work of immature fanboys or negative viral marketing by Sony paying their PR firms to do this?

I'm surprised some of the Sony apologists on this site have taken to attacking Patrick Klepek for reporting on this. How is it inappropriate or fearmongering to do investigative journalism on this? Klepek is one of the few in the industry who believes in sourcing, fact checking and investigation rather than just regurgitating press releases and I'm grateful for it. Just because you identify personally with a soulless corporation to an unhealthy degree is no reason to shoot the messenger. I wonder how many of you bashing Klepek would have minded if it was MS he reported doing this...

Little wonder the Playstation brand has deteriorated so rapidly in the US this generation. Sony has stumbled from one PR disaster to another and the worst part is that they were all easily avoidable if Sony was not so smug and arrogant. Maybe if Sony spent as much time and money on improving their products they wouldn't have to try these underhanded legal tactics.

Sadly, Sony's strategy this generation seems to be one of mitigating the fallout from their poor decisions at the start of the PS3 era by removing the other OS and now this (not to mention dropping features like memory card readers, backwards compatibility, etc.).

Stupid fanboys. It's not too hard to figure out what happened here. Two exclusive Summer of Arcade games being targeted for negative reviews? I sense a juvenile Playstation fanboy...

It seems that after finally starting to get the gaming community to not see them as the Evil Empire, EA are now making every effort to reclaim that crown from Activision.

While I'm not personally a fan of Origin, or these overly vague EULA's in general, I think it's only fair to point out that EA's Privacy Policy explicitly states that they will NEVER provide your information to third parties without your consent.  I'm a bit surprised that this has become such a big deal in the gaming community just now, as almost EVERY pc game/online service (and most console games/services) have the exact same policy.  Also, it makes sense for Origin to scan for your IP/Operating system/etc as this makes it easier to determine which version of the game to download to your pc - but yeah, the other information really shouldn't be gathered.

This is just another sign that traditional handheld gaming consoles are no longer relevant. Expect the Vita to experience the same lackluster sales following launch. Handheld gaming systems are today's version of PDA's - technology and customer expectations have left them behind. If they don't run apps, handle email, and preferably make phone calls it's just too redundant to carry one around.

Incredibly unprofessional and irresponsible of Sony not to tell us immediately that our personal/credit card information was possibly compromised.  They just opened themselves up to a huge class action lawsuit in the US.  Sony really needs to hire a crisis management PR firm to teach them how these things should be handled.

My guess is EA or Zenimax picks them up; either one would work fine.
