Fact 1: Technically Nintendo has won the generation in terms of sales and market growth.
Fact 2: The majority of the Wii's library is of poor quality and to "gamers" atleast, doesn't even touch the surface of the quality of titles on the 360 and PS3.
Fact 3: If your a gamer in this generation and ypu spend all your time playing and defending the Wii, then I feel for you. But hey, what ever floats your boat. Enjoy waving your arms around, whilst the rest of us are playing inFAMOUS and Fable.
Nintendo may have won this generation in terms of sales. However the gamer in me has not seen anything but dissapointment.
When the Wii was announced I was peronally excited about the motion control system, its just unfortunate that it was infact poorly implemented and was basically a load of crap. I've only met a handful of people who haven't regretted buying a Wii and the only ones who still enjoy it, wern't gamers to start with. Which basically means, they don't know any better.
360 and PS3 are on an equal plane to me. 360 has continued to add interesting features and content to it's system which already out weighs the support Nintendo has show to it's core gamers. Sony has the better machine overall in terms of engineering not to mention for me has the better exclusive titles.
As a long term Nintendo fan, i'm sad to see the path they've taken. I'l look out for there next handheld for sure, but as far as consoles go. I have less than no interest.
Natal is the coolest concept. But the ball on the stick seems the best for gamers. It's true that you need buttons. I can see Natal just being another "wave your arms around" Eyetoy type system, which got boring fast.
It's interesting for sure, it would be cool to use in something like Mass Effects dialogue. But to be honest, i'd rather just play a game. I rather a Fable 3 for sure.
I personally would have been happy if they stuck to the same characters and added new maps. I also would have been happy to pay for the additional content. With the AI alone, it takes alot more effort to make than a simple map pack. So i understand why it wouldn't be free.
