Damn you 2016 for being a great shooter year. Only CoD seems to be a bit meh, but even there the singleplayer looks kinda cool and Black Ops 3 multiplayer is still fun to play (at least till Titanfall 2 next week).
The singleplayer of this looks neat too and I enjoyed the multiplayer beta. Still think a WW2 setting would've been better or at least not giving all the factions acces to all the weapons in multiplayer, but this will do.
@beachthunder: As someone who didn't grow up with consoles, those games were my platformer jams. It would've been cool if they were included as well (original Duke3D did!). Would've been even more awesome if the game started with a DOS ass install menu with the choice to start either Duke 1, 2, or 3D.
@ghost_cat: While Duke3D is indeed a slower game (compared to Quake mostly), I wouldn't call the level design nowhere near as good as Doom or Quake. Duke3D has some solid and consistent level design with a good deal of interaction and it is decent at giving you the feel that you are in a 'real' world where Doom and Quake are very 'gamey' in terms of design and aesthetics.
Doom had some real stinkers in there where the level was basicly just a room full of monsters. Quake has pretty great overal leveldesign, but aesthetically that game is a mess at times.
@chillicothe: The new enemies make Devil Daggers a bit messy in the later stages. But still a tough one. I think the faithful software renderer style of Devil Daggers still wins for me.
