well they tout the 256 player thing but, from what I understand, you are broken up into squads which makes it more like it is 16 on 16 (or how many ever people are in a squad...I dunno).  Then you have a bunch of squads all fighting it out on a big map for control.  So, imo, the 256 thing is kind of meaningless.  Why do I want to play with a ton of people that I don't know and that I will never see in the same game that I'm in.

I guess it is over my head.  I was in the beta and only gave it an hour's chance.  Mainly because I just simply didn't like the feel of the game in general.  I'm interested in seeing what people's opinion on the full game is tho, regardless.

" Kevin VanOrd is usually spot on in his reviews, listen to what he says and you actually get a good sense of what the game is all about.   View it without looking at the score and you'll be pretty satisfied. "
I've said it before as well...I like him.  He reviews games fairly from what I can see and I agree with his opinion majority of the time.  There's another guy on the site that annoys me tho whenever I see him review a game I usual don't pay much attention.  Dunno his name.

I'm only about an hour into the game...its fun.  I can already see a few things that a bothersome tho.  One that Kevin mentioned about the AI teammates.  My AI seemed to be wandering around during a couple of gun fights for some reason.  Getting in my way and what-not.  And thus far at least one if not both have died in pretty much every fight but perhaps that is my fault (but I'll place some of the blame on them anyway) :).

" @handlas: I am more laughing at Gamespot for seemingly always giving a game the lowest score and giving GOTY awards to the video game equivalent of "hipster" and "indie" simply to make themselves look "edgy" or "unique",  mostly out of desperation due to the fact that they lost pretty much all credibility after the fiasco of late 2007. "

well you can think what you want of Gamespot, I don't care.  If you played all the nominees and thought it sucked, well that's fine (I don't see your 2009 GOTY list so I dunno what you liked).  But doesn't change the fact that Demon's Souls was just as deserving as the rest of the nominees.  It continually got nominated for GOTY from various sites and got excellent reviews from just about everyone.  Even the game developer awards nominated it for GOTY.

So basically people are whining, here, that Mass Effect 2 got a 9 out of 10.  The same score their 2009 GOTY got.  Just sayin...

" I think that's the lowest score it as gotten so far.  Not unexpected from a site that gave Demon's Souls their Game of the Year Award. "

Which it completely deserved.

Wow you people are pathetic...whining about a 9 out of 10.  Some of you are joking, obviously...but not all of you.  And a moderator no less.

handheld...but it's a winner.  I mean, look...there's a baby with sunglasses on pointing at the screen.  You can't mess with that.

mmm maybe only in the form of giving you a really good gun and then taking it away.  Half-life 2 did this I think.  Gave you a gravity gun that killed guys instantly and then took it away.  Killzone 2 gave you a ilghtning gun that killed everything in sight and then took it away.

That's all that comes to mind other than Darksiders, for example, where you start out with all your powers and like 5 minutes later it takes them all away.  But that has happened in a quite a few games.
