Also, for the people that think nothing is changing, but the podcast will be split for some people, think again. The new format means the show will have to be redesigned, making sections like news and new releases highly structured and timed, and random discusions and stuff will be reduced to a minimum.
I was a member of gamespot until it got obvious that the executives are running the show. Considering the origin of this site, this last move is... dissapointing.
Mmmhhh... I am not a subscriber; but this makes me even less interested. I don't really mind the 50$, if its some way of contributing with the community and the site itself, of which I enjoy that it feels closer, more personal, less "executive driven" than most sites (I don't think I need to name them here, right?). But if their idea of a subscription plan is segregating the community by moving one of its best features into a pay-per-view model, then I guess I was just fooling myself about the spirit of the site.
FF13 has a better pacing than most JRPGs because, for the most part, grinding is limited to the chapter... In other words, no matter how much you try to grind, there is a limit to how strong you can make your party, and the game is pretty good at rising that bar together with the difficulty. Persona 3, on the other hand, has better characters, setting and story. Although it can be hard sometimes (specially for someone new to the genre), its a great game to understand why some people love the genre.
Actually, I always had troubles with sandbox games (I tried GTA4 and was bored after a couple hours). It wasn't until Infamous and Assassins Creed 2 that I thought I disliked every open world game in general.
I guess I just preffer games with strong narrative, and it feels more natural in settings with a lineal progression...
