It seems to mess with the combos for me so I don't use it. Seemed like when I locked on he would just do these short jabs and kicks instead of the full combos - maybe I was doing something wrong. Either way as many have said, I didn't find it at all necessary to finish the game or the Halloween DLC which is basically all fighting.
It's a horrible game in that there is a very specific list of esoteric things one must accomplish in order to get the "good" ending. It's been a while though so I don't remember exactly how that goes. It's a fairly wonky point and click game with an interesting premise. A much better game in terms of gameplay AND story is Sanitarium
I think your best bet is some home disc cleaning remedies apart from that you can try to do the ol' rotten rental place swap if theres a place near you that rents out console games.
Anyone else sort of.. want it to fail? I realize that sounds terrible, but part of me doesn't want it to be really good cause I don't want it to take away from Telltale's sheer masterpiece.
@Ghostiet: I just wasn't sure if the cop stuff on the side is optional or if you have to progress it at some point in order to continue the main storyline - as far as I remember those cases and your own case don't criss-cross at any point.
@PlasmaBeam44: You go on 1-2 dates with each one and they unlock or tutorialize certain aspects of the game for you. They are really there to progress game mechanics rather than be an actual part of the side-game. Every date is naturally occurring in the main storyline, apart maybe from the Russian girl which I think you have to seek out yourself, or maybe the female cop gives you a lead on her. Once they disappear from your phone thats it, you're done with that girl.
