Thanks for reporting on this, Klepec. I was locked out of my account for a month until a few weeks ago. It's about time people start hearing about what has been going on here.

And phishing, my ass. I never even use windows live ID, much less go to the Xbox site or click on any links that require my Xbox info. Somehow they hacked my account through live or played customer service into giving them my details. Either way, MS needs to figure out something quick. I've already removed my credit card from XBL and subsequently, am making next to no purchases on the service. Where as before I was a pretty regular impulse buyer of XBL content.

Hope this gets MS to pay some attention to the issue at hand.

How strange to see this article today. I literally just got my account back today. Took about 3 weeks, which from what I'm hearing is pretty lucky by most experiences.

Good article. Sony should charge 19.99 for the passport (more than enough to cover their bandwidth costs) and leave it at that. There should not be an individual charge for each game left at the publisher's discretion. Obviously they're going to charge an exorbitant amount. They would rather you just re-buy a copy. They already got their sale on you so backwards compatibility is meaningless to them.

On paper she appears to have an impressive resume, but I have to imagine that her involvement in the games listed was pretty minimal if Valve was willing to let her go.  Sounds like the true brains behind Portal were likely the other guys that stuck with Valve, and her supposed "help" on L4D doesn't make it seem her contributions were very large. I'm not going to get myself too excited about this project she's working on.

If Treyarch was so afraid of "exposing" people to the harmless little stick symbol, then perhaps they shouldn't have made all of those WW2 games in which the symbol is plastered in every corner.
 
Seriously, just let the players have their fun. Anyone who is easily offended isn't communicating with people online, much less playing shooters on XBL.

I have not witnessed such levels of badassery in over a decade. It is a sight to behold. The Duke is back, and all who have forgotten will be made to remember. Hail to the King.

If they insist on keeping martyrdom, a perk that REWARDS players for playing badly or dying, then they should remove it from the perks list and add it to the new death streak feature. I would feel less crappy about dying from martyrdom if I knew that the guy that just killed me with it only had it because he had died 3 times in a row.
