I think it's a really interesting question to ask, I just wish someone actually had an example cuz I can't think of any for myself. Maybe all the offended people are too busy complaining about the offensive games in other threads.

I don't want to sound like a hypocrite, but the only thing that I could say might actually "offend" me is people that get actively offended by stuff. When I say actively I mean like, "I don't like something, therefore it shouldn't exist and nobody should get to..." view/listen to/partake in whatever they're talking about and then they start writing letters and protesting and trying to create drama. I think it just reveals a sense of entitlement and shows how self-centered people can be.

Obviously there are things that are just bad, destructive, harmful, damaging, however you want to put it, and those things need to be addressed. However, when it's literally something that's only doing harm in your opinion, but there is no evidence to back that up, then you're just being an entitled douche if you think it shouldn't exist or it should be significantly altered in some way that you find acceptable. The easy example is all the politicians and parents that think video games cause children to become violent in real life and all that nonsense. They can go ahead and never play the games and not like it all they want, but when they start trying to argue that nobody should be playing them, even adults, that's when they cross over into reactive, entitled, self-centered, moron territory.

Clearly the best spaceship would include a Mr. Radar, a Mr. Coffee, a Mr. Rental, a three-ring circus, a zoo, the ability to beam people to other rooms with their heads on backwards, the ability to transform into a mega-maid with a vacuum, and most important, the ability to go beyond light speed, beyond ridiculous speed, all the way to... ludicrous speed. *GASP*

I'm going to put NO thought into this and just write 10 movies in no particular order. This way it doesn't take me the entire night. It'll be less than accurate, but at least I'll have time to play some games tonight instead of sit here debating with myself.

1. Seven Samurai

2. The Shawshank Redemption

3. Kill Bill (Vol 1 & 2)

4. Alien

5. The Thing

6. Forest Gump

7. Reservoir Dogs

8. Enter the Dragon

9. The Silence of the Lambs

10. Jurassic Park... no, Jaws... no, The Shining... god damnit...

I really wanna do this, but there's no way it would work. I could easily watch a movie a week. That's not a big deal. I usually do more than that anyway. Reading 50 books though would impossible. I'm not a very fast reader and I'm always tired so something passive like reading a book has a tendency to put me to sleep when compared to something active like playing a video game. The game part just sounds like a ton of fun, but I'm sure after the first 10 or so that I pick for their short lengths, I'd run into games that are 20hrs long, 30hrs long, and more. No way I'd have the time for that either. This challenge just makes me sad that I don't have time to do this cuz I would love to.

If anything though, it has at least made me want to keep track of how many books I read, movies I watch, and games I complete for the year, just out of curiosity.

I think it depends. Star Wars and Lord of the Rings for example, all came from the same creative mind, same director, same actors, etc. So you could just look at them as one big piece.

On the other hand, something like Die Hard let's say, varies so much from first to last, that I don't think they could/should be brought up together. Not that anybody would, considering the last one....ugh.

What this guy said. It all comes together to form one story, so Lord of the Rings, for example, is fine as one spot. I mean obviously you can do whatever you want, but yeah, if you wanna use some kind of reasoning, this would be the most reasonable because it would allow for stories broken up into parts like LotR, but not allow a dozen James Bond movies because they are all different stories with different writers and directors and actors and timelines. Kill Bill makes it to the top of a lot of my lists of favorite this or that, but I also feel that it's perfectly reasonable to mean both Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 when I say Kill Bill. It's one story about the same characters and created by the same people.

The Dallas Buyers Club. 8/10

Mathew McConaughey is a freakin nutjob in real life, but he was one hell of an actor in this movie and definitely deserved awards. It's pretty sad and really messed up a times, and I was surprised to find out that it was all based on a true story. I'd say if you enjoy dramas and great acting, you'll probably at least really appreciate this film, if not completely enjoy it as well.

I have a bunch of co-op games on Steam and all of my friends ran off and got these things called "careers" so they're too busy to play now. If anyone wants to add me and check out the games I have and see if you wanna play any together, add me and send me a message. Just looking for some cool people from the GB community who enjoy co-op gaming, crude humor, and the occasional six-pack.

I've been saying since before the Wii U came out that Nintendo should go the way of Sega, but when I say that I never meant that I want them to make shitty Mario games on other consoles and become irrelevant. I just mean as far as dropping the dying hardware and switching strictly to software.

Pokemon on iOS will make Nintendo's profits skyrocket.

A PS4 and Xbone Zelda game would outsell almost anything else out there.

Smash Bros. Melee is still the best version and is still played in big tournaments everywhere even though the game is over 13 years old. If they released an online multiplayer enabled version on Steam, the number of active online players for a Nintendo game would break all records in like a day.

Release all the older generation Nintendo games as downloads for PSN, XBLA, Steam, iOS, etc., and watch people overload servers trying to download them on the first day. It would be ridiculous. Some people would buy the games just to see how crazy it feels to be playing a Nintendo game on their iPhone or Playstation even if they don't particularly like the game.

This is just the tip of the iceberg for how much success Nintendo could have if they would only unshackle themselves from the hardware and exclusivity and just spread out into everything else. I really hope they realize it before it's too late.

Oh man, don't tell me I waited all this time and there aren't going to be top ten videos this year. I've been loving those for the last few years. We get articles to read every day. We want top ten videos!

Good list though. Except for the racing game. I've never been able to care for those kinda games at all.

@fonzinator: Yeah, so I guess the answer is to try to find some kind of system to weed out the non-transformative ones. Maybe like a system integrated into the steps of posting a new video that includes acceptable sub-categories within the general ones that you must choose and if your video doesn't match then it gets flagged and reviewed? Maybe crowd source and let the YouTube community police themselves.

I mean, otherwise they MUST go with the blanket copyright claims on everything, never bother to verify it, and nobody gets to post videos anymore. It's bad for everyone, because gamers get less interested in the games and know less about them, making them purchase less which hurts the whole industry, and YouTube loses a whole category of videos that generate millions of hits for them, bringing in ad revenue.

I think this will all just get worse and worse and then come crashing down and go back to being good. They'll never outlive the backlash they'll deal with on a daily basis until they cave and change the rules. Either that or someone else will pick up the pieces and we'll all move over to a different site with a comprehensive and fair system in place that benefits all parties.
