I'm actually finding that my cash flows are quite limited, but that's because a lot of my cash is in stocks that I bought for dirt cheap and am waiting on to go up. Here's a few tips on the way the stock market works:

The LCN is basically tied to your save. That market gets influenced by in game actions and a lot of randomness (I think, maybe it's more complex than it appears). There are missions that drastically influence it, I made a cool $10,000 with no effort by paying attention to mission dialogue. As far as I know though, you can't really affect it with open world actions, all of it is in mission.

The Bawsaq market is tied to the social club. I believe it is influenced by players buying and selling stocks, but also by the actions of players. As I understand it, Ammunation stock, for example, can go up if players are A) buying a lot of it or B) buying a lot of products from Ammunation.

Personally, I'm absolutely loving the way money works in this game. There's just so much to do with it. I see businesses for sale that are so far out of reach that it seems like it would take a significant time investment to afford them, and I like that. That was missing from GTA IV.

As for the other stuff, I haven't noticed it.

My issue with the current discussion of this game's political un-correctness is that critics seem to get riled up about it but still give the game a 9.5 or 10 out of 10. Personally, I don't think there's anything in this game that's worse than anything in a past GTA game except maybe the torture sequence, and I think it is in fact one of the best games of this generation, and maybe all time. That said, if you are a critic and have a real issue with something in the game, reflect that in your score. The review score is all that really matters to so many people, and Metacritic rankings mean a lot. I don't like this, I wish we could get away from scores entirely, but a review that says "this game is great, but I find the sexism and violence extremely troubling" and then gives the game a 10 out of 10 doesn't really send a message to Rockstar. If you can't bring yourself to score it in accordance to what you're writing, maybe you shouldn't be reviewing it in the first place?

This discussion about this game is so frustrating. I agree that we need more diverse characters including more minorities, more genders, and more sexual orientations. As a heterosexual male, for example, I'd be very interested to play a homosexual male lead in a GTA game. All that said, I would never, EVER, want Rockstar to shoehorn in a female, homosexual, or minority character for the sake of pandering. They should tell the stories they want to tell with the characters they want to write.

The article, in my opinion, is well written, but not well thought out. You can play a female character in GTA Online, so simply stating "no female characters in GTA V" is technically false, and the reason that Saints Row can easily feature female leads is because you create your character, so the story has to be open ended as far as who the lead is anyway.

Also, near the end of the article, she talks about how offering a playable female lead creates a choice, but in this game, it really doesn't. Rockstar have gone on record saying that you will have to play as all 3 characters to finish the story, so it's not like you can pick one and play the whole game as him. I'm not saying I'd have a problem with being forced to play a female lead (I fucking love Gone Home and Tomb Raider), but that's not really the best argument.

I dunno, I guess it's just very frustrating to me that people feel the need to be aggressive towards creative works that don't fit their vision of progressive.

After doing the first few "forced" missions (I.E. tutorials), I figure I'll find the most expensive car I can and take it for a tour around the circumfrence of the map. I believe there's an expressway that runs around the map, I plan on driving all the way around that.

I don't like looking at leaks, but I was so worried about the framerate that I had to check this stuff out. Now that my fears are assuaged I have to resist looking at this guy's profile anymore. Now I can fully devote my time to figuring out a way to sleep until Monday night.

So I had applied to join the 360 crew, but I've decided to go with PS3 instead, if I could get in on the PS3 crew that'd be great! R* ID: JesterPC238

Thanks!

I live 45 minutes from there. If I can get tickets you bet your ass I'm going.

P.S. I went to TedxEMU, which was hosted at Eastern Michigan University, where I'm currently studying. It was free to attend, but you had to apply early to get a ticket. I'm pretty sure this one will work the same way, though there may be a fee if you aren't a UM Dearborn student. I doubt it though.

I bought a starter pack yesterday, girlfriend and I played for 2 hours last night and had an absolute blast. I haven't even touched a playset as I just got the starter pack so we can't yet play co-op in playset. I'm going back to Toys R Us tomorrow to buy the sidekicks pack, the Cars set and the Lone Ranger set. They got me god dammit.

I'm really torn with my thoughts on this subject, and therefor, this game. I too was little disappointed that everything is so telegraphed, but at the same time, I do think this is an important game.

Here's the thing though: The story is wonderful, charming and touching as far as video games go, but it's also something that sitcoms and literature have been covering for years. I'm not trying to diss it or be reductionist, but it's really just a solid telling of a story that's existed for a long time.

If you ask me, nothing about the story is revolutionary, and I think it's being a little over-hyped. That said, this is an important game. It provides one of the most well realized "places" I've ever been to in a game, it creates connections with it's characters without a single one of them being modeled, and it boldly offers an entire narrative that is completely mundane and non-violent. That's impressive, and that's what it deserves praise for.

Request sent to the 360 crew. JesterPC238 is my social club name as well. I may change to PS3 at the last minute depending on whether the 360 version turns out to be garbage.

EDIT: Actually with the multiple discs on 360 I probably will jump over to PS3...
