Whoa interesting didn't expect to see an absence of REmake 2 on here but I guess Jeff wasn't really into the Resident Evil franchise. Still I enjoyed the read! Control was a whopper of a game. Glad to have experienced it.

Being able to love games you know are flawed is a great thing to enforce on the internet in 2019. So many people come at opinions with a sharpening stone, but I like being able to hold up this baby and say, "IT'S NOT PERFECT BUT I LIKE IT". That's why I can totally get the Pokemon inclusion, despite not landing on the same endpoint.

I think I'll be championing Chocobo Mystery Dungeon: EVERYBUDDY for the same reason. That poor child is basically hobbling down the street but I gave my son the best pair of Irma's talons I could find.

The disgust towards the Mad Max game will forever be confusing for me. That game was crazy solid and the audio design, especially for the cars, was incredibly satisfying.

This format for GOTY is fine. I didn't mind a trip down memory lane, but then again I have a terrible memory so it's probably more helpful to people like me.

The Outer Wilds argument for GOTY might actually turn out to be an East vs West debate. This'll be interesting. I completely skipped this game, but kind of want to check it out after hearing the talk although I'm afraid of this title being over-hyped at this point.

The Resident Evil games are definitely better with friends. I think they have been that way from the start.

Oh really? I can see the appeal, but MAN: putting on a pair of headphones, turning the lights off, and jumping into a Resident Evil game you've never played is JUST the best. REmake 2's audio and atmosphere took me on a wild ride.

These solo videos are really weird. I like the topic ideas for each video, but having another person to bounce off of would have probably flowed better. Someone above me suggested, for instance, having another crew member in this video to tell Dan how close he was and I kind of want that now (similar to the quizzes they take on the Beastcast).

That being said Dan did great! I thought this was going to be a small train wreck but he really only fumbled a little bit about Control.

Falinks is such a good pick, but my heart's been taken over by that wreck of a depressed, dead coral pokemon Cursola. It might even be top 3 for me now in the entire dex (whatever that dex is now).

Hey I just platinumed this a week ago. Playing on a PS4 PRO here are some quick thoughts:

  • Ran mostly great on a PS4 PRO. Only had noticeable stutter when the world loaded in in-between warping to zones via fast travel.
  • Overall feels great to play. Throwing crap with force powers and juking through gun fire to shotgun blast hiss enemies works well.
  • The game starts off easy but will ramp up with a nice difficulty (note no selectable difficulty) as you adventure. If you're moderately skilled you probably will never die to enemies but will die once or twice to certain bosses to learn their gimmicks (especially the later, optional ones).
  • Incredibly interesting atmosphere and setting. It's "SCP: The Game" and wears it proudly as you find people terrified of objects like rubber duckies and refrigerators.

Gameplay really takes a backseat to the cool setting, but overall it's a really neat single player experience (as you saw in this video like the cool Ashtray Maze). Glad I got to enjoy this before the end of the year.

I normally put 4 shots of espresso in my coffee and my girlfriend yells at me every single time.

This is the biggest, "hey kids don't try this at home" moment I've had for awhile reading the comments. I've been on coffee for over a decade but 4 shots of espresso is some mafia boss ish right there.
