@john1912: Nothing really offends me, per se, but I'm a straight white dude. I wasn't trying to make it seem like you were pushing your views on anyone or wrong to not feel offended, I was just pointing out that the reason things are less likely to be offensive to dudes is because this hobby still, I would argue often unfortunately, revolves around dudes.
This is a thread about women and games...the one thing I hear about almost all the time is how dudes feel about games and the conversation around them. I just don't see the value in sliding back into those takes under these circumstances. No offense intended.
Those are all great points, and legitimate points of discussion for this topic! But unfortunately the discussion has to involve men and their opinions as that is what is trying to be changed. So you are going to get answers you dont like. If you want to change things you have to look past that, and keep people talking to change their opinions.
As I pointed out I wouldnt buy DoA Beach Volley Ball, or random game I came across Haydee as they kinda went full on gratuitous with it. I just feel that there is a place and time to pick your fights and not be overly PC. There are too many times where it hurts the cause. Feel like thats half the reason Trump is in office >.< was a push back for trying to be overly PC.
There is no shortage of women who will show up in cosplay of ridiculously under dressed game/movie/comic chars. Sexuality if part of the human psyche, its powerful, sneaks through conscious thought. While I will say it is easily exasperated by men, and unfair many times to women, there are plenty of women who want to fill that role. Its just sexuality, its a natural drive. Can we do better? Of course, but I think most of it can be left alone.
As I said as well there is no shortage of men in games wearing little clothing or skin tight outfits. I feel like that gets a big pass as men "arent/cant" be sexualized apparently as they are considered to be in a dominate postion vs women.
