Forgive me if I'm wrong, but some of you guys are acting confused as to why Microsoft would stop 1 vs 100. Didn't the other article from a couple days ago say something along the lines of Cashman being in a LIVE game and talking to nobody but himself because nobody was there?  That may have been a hypothetical, but I don't feel like going back and reading again to check.

" For the last time, the fact that things 'look cartoony', or what colors are used in Unreal Engine 3 games does NOT HAVE TO DO WITH UNREAL ENGINE 3. It amazes me that people think that a game engine determines how gritty or cartoony a game is.

These things are caused by the engine:  -Pop in (although this can be minimized by preloading textures into memory) -Assets handled by middleware tend to look similar (speedtree). -Some shaders used in UE3 games clearly haven't been modified much from the stock ones, which tends to make things look similar (again, this is an artistic decision). It pretty much ends there. A lot of UE3 games overuse shader effects like bumpmapping and gloss, as well as HDR, but that's a purely artistic decision. The fact of the matter is that the Unreal engine is quite an excellently optimized engine with an unparalleled, extremely well supported (better than any other engine) toolset, and it is very extensible and flexible.  That is not to say that there aren't more powerful game engines. However, one has to consider that:  -A game engine built specifically for a single console (Naughty Dog's engine, for example) has it much easier than one built primarily for cross-platform compatibility (UE3)-Building a game engine from scratch is far beyond the realm of possibility for most studios.-The Unreal Engine IS occasionally shoe-horned into games it wasn't designed for. It's not really designed for large terrains/open worlds.  "

" Since when did people start considering Yahtzee's videos actual reviews though? I mean they're funny, but I'm pretty sure even he knows they're just entertainment.   He shreds basically everything, that's his schtick.    That being said I'm glad someone's went through the same pains I did the last time I played Monster Hunter.  "
Are they even that funny though? Sure they might have made you laugh the first couple times you saw them, but his little act gets really old, at least for me.  "
Totally agree.

Also, everyone who is saying he only played a couple hours of the game is absolutely right. Just from the way he makes Lagiacrus seem like the big bad guy and bitches about gathering the whole time.

Lagiacrus is very early in the game and there are much bigger, and badder, monsters in this game.

The gathering fest ends after about two hours where you no longer need to go picking mushrooms and gathering honey.

How is what he says not accurate? He pinpoints the nuances of popular games that  most reviewers don't go into depth about. Yes it's easy to rip on a game for being bad, but he does a really good job of it. He gives (little) credit where it's due for bad games, and still points out negative aspects of games he really likes. It's honest, if not slightly biased against the Wii... he really hates the Wii and Nintendo. "
Not sure why I got sent a PM saying this was a reply to me lol

I don't understand how anyone can watch more than 4-5 of his videos and still find him funny. It is the same shit over and over.

Enjoying the RPG elements quite a bit. Being stealthy and breaking necks is extremely entertaining. :)

The best update they've had since the initial beta release. This will help my team quite a bit. Even when running your game in the editor, it comes up with the steam overlay and everything now. Pretty sexy.

The best part of this release by far though is the integration of Scaleform. This is allowing us to use Flash to make our menus and HUD elements. It is a wonderful asset.

Only problem I am having is it being covered in Chrome. I would rather have an option to have it at the top or bottom.
