I just threw on a random bombcast while driving home for lunch period from work. Hearing Ryan's voice and knowing that I won't hear it every week from here on out left me with tears in my eyes, and they're welling up right now too. This is simply too much to bear. He was like family to all of us, and I can't even begin to comprehend the pain his closest friends, and especially Jeff and of course his new wife are currently feeling. My deepest condolences go out to everyone. I'll remember his laugh and how many laughs he brought forever.

RIP Ryan. You're leaving us far too soon, but I'll be sure to find some laughs in your memory.

You can probably beat Ico in a day or so as everyone has said so you may as well beat that, but Nier is simply brilliant. Do yourself a service and don't let anyone talk you out of enjoying it.

P.S. Yes, the fishing is one of the worst things that has happened in a game.

My father was a waiter at a big restaurant for a long time, and he would kick my ass if I didn't leave a tip. Even for shitty service I leave something. I tip more than average for decent service, around 20% and if the service is great I'll tip more than that based on what I can afford. It seems fucked up to me to not leave something if you're living in the US.

I found reading through the articles that I just knew things that other people thought had never been explained and that bugged me for a while until I realized why. I got every single voxophone on my first playthrough. I'm extremely obsessive and so found pretty much every nook and cranny that there was to find. Though I did miss 5 telescopes/kinetoscopes and some infusions which still bugs me. Overall though, finding all of the voxophones fleshed out the story so substantially for me that everything just seemed to work way better than it did for many others. There are certainly plenty of plot holes, but this was pretty much the first thing I've consumed in media since Inception that made me sit back and just experience an intense flood of emotion and thought when I was done. This game grabbed me and there is no world where I can see myself calling it anything other than a masterpiece.

Mark of the Ninja is currently sitting very nearly at the top of my list if not at the top so I certainly hope that it at least makes the top 3. I don't think TWD qualifies seeing as it's now on disc. Hm... I guess it depends on what they've decided with the new categories. But man there have been some incredibly amazing downloadable games this year.

Well this is a somber moment for the medium. I hope some company somewhere can start up and carry the torch for them. The world of video games needs people like these two that used to truly love the games they made and looked to innovate whenever possible. It'll be a strange industry without them to look to.

Just got it installed and I'm looking forward to playing with all of you. An MMO without a good guild loses its luster quickly.

Well now I see that the server is full. Any advice on dealing with this issue?
