I think it's because EVERY idiot used in the late, late '90s and early 2000s for their websites because it was "sooo funny".

Edit:

By the way: I hate it too. It just looks cheap.

Well, this is a sad day indeed. I followed Ryan, Jeff and the rest of the guys since 2005 (maybe even 2004, I can't remember exactly) when they were still at Gamespot. All through the infamous firing of Jeff and their eventual resurfacing as "Arrow Pointing Down" which would become the site we know and love as Giantbomb.

I am very sad and can't even begin to imagine how his family, his just recent wife and his friends must feel now. My thoughts are with them.

After I first read the news, I actually couldn't believe it. I still can't to be honest. It started to sink in when I watched the Harmonix tribute a couple of hours ago and it really hit me by the end of that show. I hope it was archived and a big "Thank you!" to John Drake, Eric Pope and all the rest at Harmonix. It was really nice.

There is not a lot that can still be said. All I can say is thank you, Ryan Davis, for all the good times you have given us. You will be remembered and sorely missed. And when I've put a nights sleep behind me, I think I'll play some Saints Row 3. Because Ryan is the reason I bought and enjoyed that game so much.

Good night and have Batman, Mr. Davis!

It can also be seen outside the US, but maybe not everywhere. I don't mind it, at least it's well made.

In any case it's still better than the occasional "Phillipino Cupid" ads I keep getting later in the evening or at night. That is actually quite annoying.

No, it's not really an issue. ME2 is not very confrontational in that respect. Others may correct me if I'm wrong on this or maybe I just haven't experienced those possibilties. Right at the beginning of ME2 Sheppard has the dialogue option of remembering the name Cerberus, but I think that's more or less it.

Be that as it may, I've always played ME2 like Sheppard is effectively just using Cerberus as a means to an end. Pretty much always going renegade option when talking to the Illusive Man. If they want to give me money and equipment for my own goals then so be it. They are not my friends, but my enemy's enemy.

Sheppard's backstory is not really an issue in ME2 in general and apart from a few moments in ME1 as well. Dialogue changes a little bit and some encounters as well, but on the whole that's about it as I recall. But then again it has been a while...

Oh man. This totally made my day. I never played SimCity 4, but I may have to pick it up before this is released.

I have no idea how many hours of my life are sitting in SimCity 2000 save files on long gone hard drives.

Be careful! SC4 is great, but you loose time like nowhere else. It's one of those games where you sit down and think to yourself "Hey, I'll boot it up for an hour or so..." and suddenly you're feeling hungry, realizing it's been four hours or more. At least that's what happened to me. On more than one occasion...

Other than that it's great and I can't wait for SC5 to ruin my life all over again. Addicted to WoW? Then you haven't played SimCity!

These news make me want to boot up SimCity 4 again. It's actually quite sad that SimCity is more or less the only contender in that genre. But man, that game sucked sooo many hours out of my life. That said, can't wait for it. A 2012 release would be preferable though...

Oh, and yes, there are other, similar games around, but none of them can compete with it. SimCIty will always be the big daddy.

If you liked TLAD then you're in for a real treat with Ballad. I was not very fond of The Lost, mainly because I really don't get along with bikes in games in general. Although I have to say that they tweaked the bike mechanics quite a lot for that DLC. Besides that I thought the story was a little flat and quite short.

The Gay Tony story on the other hand was really nice, mainly because it has a lot more throwbacks and intersections with the main game story arc. But then again it's been a while since I played those DLCs-gone-full-retail-disc (which was an awesome idea by the way) and remember it as being better than it was.

All in all I enjoyed both quite a bit. Hey, it brought me back to Liberty City. What more can you ask for?

I've crafted some coal into

"World Basketball Manager 2010"

Brilliant. Don't know what to do with it. If anyone likes to make me an offer, just PM me here.

30ft. cable? That seems a bit excessive.

But do keep in mind that the gamepad was mainly designed to be used with an XBox360 and sitting on your sofa or whatever. Plus it's "only" 15 feet, says so right on the box.

And the controller is great, especially the Tournament Edition. Love it on the XBox, love it on the PC. Now if there only were a PS3 version...

A modo user. How refreshing to see. Make sure to post your stuff on the Luxology forums if you aren't already. Best resource there is. Keep it up.
